Nicole hasn't seen much court time lately but I don't think that means much. I'm sure that Sherri awards playing time based on practice performance. It wasn't long ago when several thought Kornet should be starting. It isn't uncommon for players to go through difficult times and it is just as common they start playing well again. Kornet is a better outside shooter than Maddie and LaNesia. She is also a capable defender and rebounder.

It won't surprise me to see her minutes increase as soon as she improves on the practice court. That could happen any time.

Just my thought, but Sherri needs to play her at the 2 or 3. Playing her at the 4 doesn't seem to be Nicole's cup of tea. In the minutes she got at TCU she looked horrible out of sync. I do agree with you that she seems to be very capable, but without minutes to hone your skills and get your feet settled under you then you will never succeed.

If she started and played a good 25-30 minutes. I bet she would be averaging 12 ppg.

Everyone wanted Sherri to bench players who made turnovers. She does now. Kornet has been trying too hard, and she has made too many mistakes recently. A key problem is that she tends to strand herself on defense where they can go around her. Slow down. You move too fast. Gotta make the morning last.

Agree...she is definitely not a 4. She has always played 2 or 3 prior to OU. Neither does she have the NCAA body type to play 4, even if she played post in high school.

Kornet seems to be on a short leash this year. I would like to see her, Carter, and Little split the 80 minutes of playing time in thiose 2 positions, unless one is hot, as Carter has been lately.

Right now, we know that if we have Kay Kay, Vivi, Sharane, Gioya, Peyton, Gabbi, or Maddie on the court, things happen. They are doing so many things right. Even with somewhat limited minutes, Vivi is doing things right. Edwards comes in for Gabbi. That's really all you need. LaNesia, Nicole, Derica, and McKenna have to do something to merit time on the floor.

In the past two games, Nicole has gone backwards a bit. She has zero rebounds. She has no steals, blocks, assists, or anything else. She has one three-pointer. That is the positive. Against TCU, she was put in relatively early. She charged recklessly on a fast break, turnover. She dribbled the ball off her foot. Turnover. Three minutes, two turnovers, a foul, and nothing positive. Against WV, she kept getting stranded between where she was supposed to be, guarding Holmes, and the basket, leaving Holmes free to drive.

Kornet was playing well. Now, she simply isn't thinking. She is trying so hard that she is reckless. While this is occurring, we have seven people who are very productive with their time.

I'm a big fan of Nicole and I'm hoping she will soon return to her previous form. But I'm also wondering, whose minutes do you guys think she should be getting at this point?

Well I was also thinking she seemed out if sync this year, I agree she probably should be playing more at the 3, with Maddie improved play lately maybe she can play at the 4 as a point foward an allow Nicole to play small foward. Also probably me reaching for an answer and over thinking didn't know if her parents moving to Nasville had her a little home sick?

She got minutes today. She got a couple of rebounds, a three, and didn't make mistakes. That will get her more time.

Glad to see her back she played a solid game today. We will need her the deeper we go into the season.

Glad to see her back out there....Her smile is contagious.....She smiles, I smile!!! You can tell she loves the game....Maybe giving her more minutes, she can get more in rythem....GREAT game today, girls!!!! And Happy birthday Sherri !!!!

I am at a loss for what has happened to hewr game. She was in the game at crunch time last night against Fexas because 4 teammates had fouled out. Prior to last night, she had played only 28 minutes in the previous 4 conference games. She is probably my favorite Sooner on this years team, but I am not real confident in her playing now. She does not look as enthused about the game as much now. Maybe it is lack of playing time. Before this season, she would play 28 minutes a game, not 28 in 4 games. I remember how we were thrilled when she signed with us out of high school. Some saw her as the next Whitney Hand. I think she was a high school All American. Any thoughts?

Yeah earlier in the year I thought she should be starting. Can't say that now based on how she has played when she gets in. Is it a confidence thing with Nicole on her part?? She would still be in my top 8 ahead of L Williams and Edwards.

I don't know if Kornet has lost confidence in her ability of if Sherri has lost confidence in Kornet.

She is on a very short lease. She let the Texas get in front of her just after she entered the game for a put back and within 30 seconds she was back on the bench. Would not be surprised if she leaves. The only reason not is that she will be a senior next year.

I felt like early in the season Nicole was our most effective player. She was shooting the three like we hoped she would. She looked confident and competed hard. Our lineup was changing on a regular basis due to the early season losses. For whatever reason when Sherri decided on a set lineup that has led to the winning streak she decided that Nicole as well as Derica didn't fit into her plan. I don't understand why she made that decision. Obviously it has worked, good winning streak, improved play by Gioya K-K and Maddie. I think that killed Nicole's game, confidence, hopefully not a bad attitude. As a former coach myself, Derica would have a heat check every game. She has gone many minutes and halves without touching the floor. She is to streaky of a shooter not to get her some shots each half. She has shown us in the past she can get on a roll. We certainly go through stretches when we struggle to score. Heat check time to me for Derica! Since we aren't at practice we cant be sure but it sure looks to me like it wasn't anything more than a coaching decision. It has worked for the team, but certainly hurt the production of Nicole and Derica. Seems to have had a negative effect as well on the freshman Williams.
