Kruger announces team captains

A little surprised Pledger isn't one, but then again, I don't really know his personality, and how that fits in on the team.

my thoughts exactly, wonder if he didnt work as hard during the off season as those that were chosen as captains

OSU named 3 captains as well, does that not seem like a lot for a basketball team? 3 captains for a 13 (or less, don't know OU's scholarship situation) man roster seems a little overboard.

There is no need to read anything negative towards Pledger on this.

Indeed, the article indicates the captains were chosen by a vote of the team. So any number of splits of the vote could have occurred. If 3 votes represent like 25% of the tally, Pledge could have received a large percentage and still lost. Elections are wacky, guys.

My thought after reading this was "I appreciate Pledge, Fitz, and Osby". They were part of a stellar recruiting class on paper (lots like Crock and A.J.) I suppose my feelings are simply that OU basketball might be back and I never thought such a statement could be seriously made. My first memories of OU basketball are fuzzy because I was really young but early memories of OU hoops is Tim McCalister hitting a clutch turnaround 3 point range jumpshot with a swarthy relatively young Billy T working the sideline. I am just glad these 3 stuck out as we did through OU's recent dark age and I sincerely hope that they are part of our return to great basketball. Things went from good to downright unacceptable in no time and Cade, Fitz, Osby, Ro, and even TJ Franklin have fought hard through this whole debacle to get us out of these weeds. Here is to hoping Fitz, Pledge, and Osby are part of one of the greatest seasons in OU history. But mainly I appreciate them for being here and I would love for them to experience a deep postseason run because they have more than earned it (minus the winning part but I believe they were dealt a rough hand).

I think it is great to see Andrew Fitzgerald as a captain. He could easily pout due to all the attention M'Baye is getting but instead he works hard and leads. Andrew also makes really good grades.
