Not a failing grade but pretty close and well below average. Hard to find any area deserving of credit.

All of us that blindly assumed Kruger was a coaching upgrade from Capel looking wrong so far. I have little doubt we would have fared better with Capel coaching.

more wins than Capel had the last two years, but you wanted to keep him. you are a ******* ******

Lack of talent is the problem, not coaching. The problem is OU is stuck with all these juniors one more year because Capel couldn't recruit.

i say a C- if we play a much better year then if Capel was the head coach we would of been like 8-20 on the year

C. Not bad, not good either. Just doesn't have anything to work with outside of a couple players. Kruger can't shoot the basketball for Clark, Blair, Grooms, and Neal. Until we get some guards that can score the basketball we're gonna be in some trouble. But I expect Kruger to do that, and to get this thing turned around! Boomer Sooner!!

I say a "C"

This team has no size and not enough perimeter shooters. M'Baye will help next year but this team will still have too many flaws to be a contender.

If Boca doesn't like him, I know we're on the right track.

Exactly. Grade for Boca F-.

Kruger can only do what he can with these guys. Not many athletes and not much speed. Throw in not much size and it's a recipe for disaster.

Clark and Osby are the real deal. Pledger was a bust the last 10 games and Fitz just doesn't look the same. I don't know what happened but we just looked terrible over the last 10 games. But, I have faith in Kruger. You hate to see a coach push some kids out but we really have too many guys that are coming back that just aren't talented enough to play in the Big 12. I think Grooms, Clark and Osby are all good enough but beyond that I don't see these guys playing in the two deep on any of the top 4 or 5 Big 12 teams.

Sorry I can't join in the Boca flaming session, because there's some truth to what he says. Losing Newell hurt, but that doesn't excuse some of the absolutely pathetic performances this year (tonight and Tech come to mind).

I think it speaks more to lack of basketball talent and size than coaching. Neal, Clark, and Blair are not very good shooters. Grooms is not a scoring PG, Fitzgerald is not a athletic post player, Washington is not a scorer and is under sized, Arent is a project. Osby and Pledger are good players and brought their A games most nights while the others either had 1 good half or had too many bad games in a row to get this team over the hump.....

I would say a C- is pretty spot on. I know that a lot of the game is determined by the players, but there seemed to be quite a few times where the team would start falling apart and coach didn't really do anything to curtail the problem until it was too late. I think Krueger is a solid coach, but I was expecting to see a little more than what was shown. Some players showed some improvement, but at the end of last season and at the beginning of this season I expected us to at least make the NIT regardless of who the coach was. That didn't happen and it probably should have so it's gotta be a C- grade for the first year. With that said, I think next year will be a better sampling for us to truly grade Krueger and the job he is doing. So until then, let's hope the guys (players and coaches) work hard and take care of the so many stupid mistakes that made this year a disappointment.

I may be too positive on this but I say B-/C+. Kruger came in with rags and made them competitive in all but a few games this year. Did we win close games that we should have? No. But the way these guys played is something Capel could never get done (except if Blake inspired it).

Grooms will be improved next year and less minutes for the rest of the starting four will actually help them down the stretch where it was blatantly obvious we were a tired basketball team. Just one example is how flat Fitz's shot got over the last 10 games or so.

Man, Calvin Newell leaving has elevated him to the status of a god. Like he's the best player to ever suit up at OU.

The dude average 2 ppg and wasnt starting this year on a team that you guys say has no talent. Quit acting like we lost Eduardo Najera or Hollis Price. It's more like we lost Alex Spaulding.

I'm just glad the season is over and now we move on to year 2 under coach Kruger.

He averaged 13 ppg in 19 mpg before transferring. He had some nice games. Tyler Neal, Carl Blair, Cameron Clark, etc arent even capable of scoring 20 and he was a threat to do that any night. Sure, he would have some guys where he only scored 6-8, but thats better than those other clowns.

You can bet Calvin Newell was a major loss.
