I certainly didn't think there was any possibility whatsoever that he would be a candidate, but I had already seen semi-panicked posts about it on other OU sports message boards.

K-State was paying Martin about 1.4M and he left for 2.05M, I think. Lon is at 2.2M now.

I wasn't worried about LK leaving, but it had little to do with the fact that he left KSU once. More to do with OU's better potential, and him not being the type of guy to leave Joe C. hanging like that, after one year.

My mom and grandparents are KSU grads and I spoke them all after the Martin news went down and they all three said that LK, although respected greatly, has burned that bridge in Manhattan. They also mentioned they would love to see Henson or Jankovic at Illinois State, both former players, get a shot at the position.

I was coming here to post the exact same question/observation. I believe he was interested when Kruger was hired.

I totally agree! I like Terry and agree he has some potential but he's got to get some D1 experience somehow, somewhere.
