Kruger

I always liked the hiring of Lon Kruger. His name wasn't even mentioned when we were all wondering if Capel would be fired. Once that happened, I was pretty much determined to get behind whoever was going to be hired. Anyone familiar with Coach Kruger knew it wasn't going to be long before he had us back in the NCAA tournament. However, not in my wildest dreams did I seriously believe we'd be in the Final Four in Year 5 (it was Year 8 for both Billy and Kelvin).

I guess my point was that people who struggled giving Lon Kruger much credit still deserve to enjoy the success of this year's team. Perhaps they are finally realizing their loyalty towards Jeff Capel may have been a bit "misplaced".

Not trying to be a jerk (and I'm really not) but he was mentioned. His name was being thrown around. I was also throwing Kruger's name out when they hired Capel. Thought he fit then but he was a homerun hire when Capel was fired with the mess he had OU in.

I know I mentioned his name but not until after Capel was for sure canned or it was imminent. I think what WaymanFan was saying is before Capel was canned not many were mentioning Kruger. He's probably right because we had a coach already but I could be wrong.
