Anyone else watching this? It's in the second OT, and Withey just got called for his fourth foul on a block that was ten times cleaner than Smart's on Pledger.

Yep, and Smart just fouled out on a dumb charge. He was 2-7 from th FT line.

Who, Smart? He was 11-14 from the line. It'll be a rare game that he shoots just 7 free throws. He was 2-14 from the field.

I don't know why KU hasn't been going to McLemore in the game-winning situations. I don't care what kind of game he's having, I think he's the guy you give the rock to to win the game.

Umm what are the OSU morons booing?
That they didn't get to rush the court again in a game they were the favorites?

I'm not sure what the Aggies were booing at the end there. Maybe they thought if they booed enough the result would be overturned?

if they were smart, they would have been booing brown's shot selection. but that's a pretty huge assumption.

They were booing from the time I started watching -- with about seven or eight minutes left in regulation. This in a game that saw the aggies with just three fouls with under four minutes remaining in the second half.

Unlike during our game, the announcers gave Smart his props but treated him as something other than superhuman. One foul in overtime saw Smart jump right into the defender, but still get the call (of course), and the announcers weren't afraid to point out that it was a bad call, that Smart had sought out the contact. They also laughed at the booing crowd when they were complaining about a non-call at a point late-ish in regulation when oswho had just three fouls ("They're hardly getting a bad break with the whistles," said the play-by-play guy). They also mocked the crowd for questioning a call in OT when Smart clearly slid under Withey when Withey was in mid-air headed toward the basket. It was an obvious call, and the announcers said as much over a chorus of aggie boos.

I'd have felt better if we'd had these two guys calling our game on Saturday. Wouldn't have made a bit of difference in the outcome, of course, but it was refreshing to hear guys who weren't afraid to point out questionable calls and to call the booing fans on the carpet.

How about the Smart play into Releford for a foul on Releford. Horrible call. Releford did not lean in, he was vertical, Smart's shoulder hits his chest and they call a foul putting Smart on the line. Just a minute or so later Markel Brown does the same thing no call and the commentators say it is good for Brown to create separation and avoid the offensive foul.

Unless I am really missing something I don't see the difference between those two plays.

Did anyone see Travis Ford booing the official in the first overtime?

I have seen coaches scream, cuss, throw a temper tantrum and do a variety of things in protest to an official's call. But in all of the years I have watched college basketball, I have never seen a head coach blatantly boo an official before. That was a first for me.

At just over the three minute mark, an official calls a foul on OSU. The camera pans to the sideline and there was Little Travie with both hands cupped to his mouth in the classic position, yelling "BOO! BOO!" Maybe somebody will post the clip on Youtube for all of the world to see.

After watching OU, KU, KSU, ISU, Baylor, and OSU in the last couple of days I think the big 12 tournament could go to anyone. There really isnt a difference in any of these teams. I think OSU, KU, and Baylor have the best players (NBA futures) but the worst coaches, and OU, ISU, and KSU have medium players and great coaches.

Over on the OSU boards, there are several people complaining that the charge Smart fouled out on was one of the worst calls they have ever seen.

If I was explaining the rules of the game of basketball to somebody, and they asked me what a charge was, I would have video of that play is my example. That's how obvious it was. One of the most clear-cut charges I've ever seen.

I don't think you can put the Jaywhorn coach in the 'worst coaches' class. Self is a pretty good coach. I'll definitely give you Napoleon Ford and Drew though.

The bad call was the one Young got away with on the baseline. He was obviously moving and got a gift.

So KU makes what, one basket in the two OT? Another game they should have lost.

You can take a charge while moving as long as you have legal guarding position.

Yeah, I thought the oswho guy was blatant in lowering his shoulder and initiating contact.

At first I thought he was calling out a play... No, that was just a head coach at a Div. 1 school in a major conference booing an official. Never seen a coach pull that pathetic move. I really hope that clip ends up online.
