Late call lifts OU over A&M [Tulsa World]

Actually, the point would have been moot if the refs had called the foul where the Aggie player raked Pledger across his wrist and pullled his hand off the ball, which caused the loose ball in the first place. Clearly a hacking foul...

I posted as much in a comment under that story. Don't know if Emig reads that stuff or not.

Man, that was a lame-assed story to be found in an Oklahoma paper. Even if one thinks it was a bad call on the possession and ignores the foul, OU hit their free throws and A&M missed their game-tying shot.

So in short: OU got it done, and A&M didn't. The call did not "lift" OU to victory.

I don't think Emig saw the game at all. He seems to have stolen his comment from Shinn's column in the Transcript.

I read your comment at the end of the Tulsa World article, skyvue. You hit the nail on the head. And the officiating was atrocious throughout the game. I'm still scratching my head over the Pledger traveling call a little earlier in the half. Heck, it's hard for a player NOT to travel when he's nearly knocked off his feet by the player that's guarding him.

Emig has been and always will be an idiot. Sorry, but that is just my perspective. He writes piece after piece that leaves me scratching my head and wondering how he still has a job. There is the occasional decent piece here and there, but the ones where he obviously "didn't watch the game" or "didn't research the rules" leaves me to wonder why people keep reading his stuff. I quit a long time ago and refuse to click the link directing me to his article. IDIOT!!!
