Getting to the tournament was this team's goal, seeding isn't much my concern. Butler's two biggest wins are on last second shots.

I don't see why we should try to avoid anyone, in order for the program to take the next step, we need to beat someone we shouldn't in a game that really matters. Embrace the challenge.

For who? They have beat Indiana and Gonzaga this year

They've also lost to LaSalle, Charlotte, an average Illinois team, and STL twice.

If we fall to an 11 seed, I'd prefer a "fun" matchup over a team that might be slightly easier to beat. We aren't going to make much noise as an 11 seed. Enjoy just being there.

I think it'd be fun to go against a well coached team that has Rotnei Clarke on it. They are certainly beatable.

Pretty harsh after an overtime loss on the road. I think OU is being hurt by the last few seasons. This teams resume deserves no worse than a 9 seed at this point. Drop from a 9 to an 11 after one loss?

we should have been a 7 before the loss ..

If an 11 seed wins its first game, it has a reasonable chance to win a second round game. An 11 seed is not substantially different than a 6 seed because there is not much difference between the teams ranked 20-44. They are solid teams with weaknesses.

Yea but a 1st round matchup with Butler? No Thanks

Butler's overrated this year. They have a few pretty lucky wins against Marquette, Indiana, and Gonzaga. I'd rather play Butler than, say, NC State, UCLA, or Colorado State who are all really talented teams that will probably fall into the 7-9 seed range for a variety of reasons.

this. As I was looking at his bracket... I was like, if this were to happen, it would be a great draw. We would have a shot at making a run, if we got past Butler. And if not, well, it would be a fun match up. But, New Mexico & then potentially Georgetown... I would like our chances for some upsets.

I would much rather be a 11 seed than an 8 or 9 seed. If we were to win that game, I would much rather not play a 1 seed

UNM is getting jobbed right now...they should be in consideration for a #1 seed.

St. Louis is going to win the A 10. You say average Illinois team. I see a team that is every bit as good as OU.

I would say OU is an average team. Right? Likely 5th place finish in the Big 12. Not ranked. Probably range anywhere from missing the Dance by one game, to making it by 2. Isn't that the definition of average? And if Illinois is average and beat them, why should OU be scared?

At the end of the day Lunaticardi has no idea whats going to happen but it's fun to think about. I'd prefer the 11, honestly as opposed to an 8/9 but I don't think any of the 1 seeds will be that great. The one team I've seen play who impresses me is Miami. Lots of talent, good coach, but they also strike me as a high seed who could lose in the first round.

Should be fun regardless of how it turns out, though.

homer alert... :ez-laugh:

I will admit I am biased, but why not?

Already clinched the regular season championship in the #1 RPI league. A team RPI of 2 with a SOS at 3.

I don't even like RPI, but if the committee is going to use RPI as a seeding criteria (they do not use it for selection) there is no reason they shouldn't be in the convo with Gonzaga, Florida, UA, Miami or anyone else.

Interesting if that bracket holds up. Playing in Austin may be a motivator for the team, then on to Arlington if they could get out of Austin.
