Very excited about his future. Love his energy and live for the game. Will definitely be a fan favorite like Buddy, Hollis and Johnnie Gilbert!

If Lattin can be an 8/8 guy next year, that would be huge.

He has gotten a ton of experience in his first year. If he adds a little meat to his frame he could really get some stuff done next season.

I don't worry about his size as much as I do his skills. Baffles me that a kid that is the grandson of a great college player, and the son of a professional athlete (his mom) doesn't have a more polished offensive game. Dude needs to spend all summer shooting jump hooks and 12 footers.

Does anyone really envision him playing with his back to the basket? This is one area where he will really have to work on.

His hops and athleticism reminds me of Daryan Selvy. I just wish his offensive game was as good as Selvys.

May not be his role. Johnnie couldn't shoot it. He'll be a great contributer and asset regardless.

And free throws. :facepalm

I don't think LK recruited Lattin to be a career 6th man. But to start, and be effective, he has to improve on offense.

If he ends up being a bench guy like Gilbert, fine. That is a needed role. But we better go find some big men that can start.

That was all I was going to say. As a big off the bench to come in with his energy and then hit some free throws would be huge. Would be a great way to get some bench production.

that's like saying why did Michael Jordan's kids not play in the NBA, or why Joe Montana's kids never were good D1 college quaterbacks.....He did what was asked of him this year play about 4-6 minutes a game, get some blocks and rebounds and maybe get a putback or lob dunk. Im sure he will develop more offense as he matures as a player.

I think he will improve his post game enough to start when he's needed.

Lattin makes plays no one notices, which will make him invaluable. When we were in that 39-39 stalemate for what seemed like a century, it was Lattin who tipped it out to finally help us break the tie. He will only improve on stuff like that...he'll be a good sooner despite his points either way.

I think of Lattin as being what Harvey Grant might have looked like as a FR.

Well, Harvey could not get off Clemson's bench as a frosh. However, I'd like to think he just didn't wake up as a JUCO sophomore with a great mid-range shot. Harvey had serious maturity issues back then which was likely the reason he didn't blossom as quickly as his twin brother.

If we're taking things one year at a time, I'm a bit worried about who our low-post scorer will be next season to replace Tayshaun Thomas. I don't think Mr. Lattin will make that kind of leap in one season. Still, he'll be a more consistent contributor next season.

Manyang is not supposed to be much of an offensive player. I know nothing about McNease. Spangler doesn't give us much offense and I'm not sure about Lattin. I think he's extremely coordinated for his size and might even be able to defend the perimeter but if he doesn't provide an offensive threat our guard game will suffer.
Can his parents afford to send him to Akeem's big man camp? If so, maybe there's hope.

We might need to pick up a scoring big to reach our full potential.

Lattin actually has a good shot. He will be allowed to use it next year. The coaching staff thinks he is going to be very good in the future. The weight room will help him a bunch this summer.
He is a great kid and does well in school.
