The coaches have control over that. They can punish guys for not buying in. Do better at recruiting guys that fit in. Run guys off that don't fit in. Sometimes LK is too nice. I personally think a part of that is not staying around places long enough to have a vested interest.

Was surprised he benched Lattin anyways. Can't do much if you let your star do whatever. You lose the rest of the team for more than this year if you let 1 player do whatever while holding others accountable.
You could blame coaches only for giving Trae the keys. Once they did that, none of what happened was preventable.
