Seems like a good choice. I've only seen him do women's basketball on TV. And he's been the sideline guy too.

Wow. Are you kidding me?

Good for Toby. Big time.

Did they even try to go after that Spanish announcer? Thus proves Joe C. doesn't care about basketball.

Deano was talking about it on the sports animal tonight but I don't know if its final.

He would know since Rowland works at Channel 9.

Toby did PBP while BB Sr was getting ready to be honored at halftime of a football game and I thought he was fantastic. I am glad to hear he got it.

I was listening, what happened was Al asked Dean about it. He said he heard Toby Rowland was going to be the new PBP guy and Dean wouldn't confirm nor deny it. He just kept saying Toby is very talented and would do well if he was indeed the choice. It was an odd conversation. It seemed Al knew Toby was going to get it but Dean didn't want to confirm it.

I heard this on the Animal. IMO Dean doesn't know anything - he was just pumping his boy. Why would you hire someone who really hasn't done any pbp in his life when you have a PROFESSIONAL like Carpenter who is one of the best and VERY experienced? Don't do it JC.

If it isn't Bob Carpenter then it means that they couldn't work around his Nationals job. Bob wanted to do that for at least 1 more season and that was going to cause a schedule conflict.

Please, not Bob Carpenter. PBP for Kids.

I heard that banter and I didn't get the impression that Rowland was going to get it. However, I will admit that with Blevins it is like trying to cipher alien language at times.

I heard the other day that Bob turned it down. It was third hand, so who knows, but I heard that Bob doesn't want the job.

Bob Barry had an excellent radio voice. unique. His pbp may have diminished over the years, but that voice remained.

they need another unique voice.

To use a basketball analogy, this is the Gregg Marshall of pbp.
