wow, that would be a SHOCKER imo. I figured he'd be at Arizona for a very long time.

i feel the same. i posted on another board i'd be surprised to see it happen....

Gotlieb stated that miller and his wife are east coast people and that his wife really misses the east.
I personally wouldn't leave Arizona for Maryland but to each his own.

I might be biased because I go to UMD, but one thing to remember is that Maryland is an absolute hotbed of basketball talent.

I wonder who Arizona would hire to replace him?

I don't think that's biased at all. I would think Md would be an excellent job. I just thought Miller was tied down hard to Az.

Regardless of whether you are a basketball coach or not, the desert isn't for everyone.

U of A to Maryland is a lateral move. at best.

in the ACC you are always #3 to Duke and UNC. and that takes some coaching. UA won 30 games last year.

Carol Stoops apparently loved Florida, as you may recall.

Thats why I don't put much stock in what people say about people liking other areas of the country.
I just posted what gotlieb said.

He also said though that Lon Kruger was the hire of the year.

I heard Miller just signed an extension with U of A.

Don't know how accurate it is at this point, but FWIW, apparently some Maryland Radio guy is tweeting that it's Turgeon:

that would be interesting, since Turgeon has to be #1 in the KU post-Self scenario. i never liked the guy as a player, but he did win at ATM and bridge the winning gap at Collie Station....after Gillespie. which was no small feat. having a new gym and Fran underachieving helped....still good basketball, though. physical, tough inside, atm brand identity with Turdgeon.

From a reliable source, I'm hearing Capel is high on Maryland's list. Fortunately, we locked him up a few years ago with the Alabama, Arizona and South Carolina scares. Capel's buyout should protect us a little here. What a move by Joe C.

In other news, drove by the renovations to the Field House, and it is looking sweet. It will be so great when games are back on main campus.
