Mountain West Eyes Kansas, Missouri

My favorite part of that story is that TCU will lobby against Baylor.

What goes around comes around and Baylor has made it worse by hiring Ken Starr as their President. No legitimate academic institution will have anything to do with that right wing hack.

That's a nice little conference for them.

How would it be much different than the Big 12? We'd win that league every year as well.
It would help football be competitive.

I think KU would be a better fit in the WAC playing teams like Fresno State, Idaho and Hawaii.

Bill Self said KU was going to a BCS conference and I always Trust in Bill.

Will the MWC be good enough for the BCS with Boise, maybe Fresno, Utah, TCU, and BYU there and adding KU, Mizzou and KSU?

isu, ku, mu and ksu to the big east unless ku or mu get snapped up elsewhere separately. should be fantastic.

Only way that happens is if the Pac 10 goes to 16 but the Big 10 and SEC both stay at 12.

I think it's inevitable at this point that we're going to see four large conferences, though, each with at least 16 teams, if not more. The only schools in serious danger of getting left out are Iowa State, Baylor, and kansas state.

The Big East and Big 12 will both be scattered throughout the Pac 10, Big 10, SEC and ACC. I have no idea who will be where, but I'm pretty comfortable saying that when the dust settles, almost everyone's happy. I still think the Big 10 is the likeliest destination for Mizzou, with the SEC as a possibility (which I would hate from a cultural standpoint, but it would be nice for athletics).

I could see kansas in the ACC (if they're unable to woo four Big East teams and if they're willing to have a school that far west) or the Big 10 (if they strike out on Big East teams or if they decide to go past 16).

I read a story today that said it would probably be the Big 12 (KU, KSU, Mizzou, Baylor, Iowa St) taking in the Mountain West and then adding Houston for 16. Apparently, the Mountain West schools are totally okay with that because they would walk into the Big 12 TV contracts and automatic BCS bid. Also would make the Big 12 a big market for TV. The population of those states (only including San Diego MSA not all of California) would be 54,000,000 which is over 25% bigger than the Big 12 was before all this mess started. Now I would like that especially for KU football. That would really benefit KU, KSU & Missouri football. Nothing would change in basketball. I think that's the best and most realistic move I've heard. Can't imagine all 16 of those schools not being ecstatic with that move.

That makes a lot of sense and would be a good league in both football and basketball...however a notch below the SEC, Big 10 and Pac 16.

The lawyers would love that scenario...a ton of litigation. The 8 Big12 defectors fighting with the remaining 4 over exit fees. The TV partners arguing that this is not really the Big 12. It would be interesting.

KU, Mizzou, ISU, and K-State would be smart by trying to salvage the big12 and add Houston, Baylor, TCU, SMU, Rice, and North Texas. Make Memphis and maybe Memphis and Tulsa the other two north schools.

Yes, it would be a notch below the Supers but still a very good league like you said. I'm not sure the TV partners would throw that big a fit as that group would actually be in 25% more homes than the current Big 12.
