Let me make a position clear. I must admit that I reject everything that suggests that a student is obligated to a university. Is that not ever bowing down before the powers that be. Universities were established, as were schools, for the benefit of our society as a whole. Our social order benefits from having an educated populace. As do most mammals, we care for our young, and we prepare them for the future with education as a part of that preparation. That is our responsibility, and if we reject that, we have no business having children.
I have regarded many of Griner's actions as being inappropriate, and I have stated exactly that. I also have regarded many of Sims actions as being inappropriate. I regarded many of Wabara's actions as being inappropriate. It seems that there might be a common denominator. Since I also regard their tutor's actions as being inappropriate, it doesn't surprise me that they exhibit the inappropriate behavior which she appeared quite wiling to accept. At least, she was quite reluctant to provide any discipline for their behavior. I can't even remember the name of the girl who pulled hair.
Indeed, this all seems to stem back to one person and what she is willing to tolerate as being acceptable behavior. I don't think I am alone is thinking that Kim has exhibited behavior with respect to her own players and with respect to other coaches and players that leave something to be desired. She is a representative of an institution that claims to be an institution of higher learning, one which is supposed to set standards for the behavior of its students.
She and Baylor have failed.
It is also rather clear that Kim lied to Griner. Homosexuality was a problem. Somehow, that doesn't begin to surprise me. I find it interesting that so many former players rush to defend Kim's honor when her actions stripped her of honor long ago.
