This was with 4 minutes to go and we were up 8. He rooted for OSU the whole game. He SUCKS!!!!!!!

He needs to be retired IMO

they were BOTH on OSUx's jock the entire game.

now, this wouldn't be totally wrong except for the fact that OU WAS UP THE ENTIRE GAME.

what kinda crap is that?

shameful.

I did a WTF on that one. Did he mean OSU? Geez, we controlled the game from start to finish.

I think Fran tries not to look like he has a rooting interest in OU. I mean his son is on the team if only as a walk-on.

I agree with you. But he went overboard with it in trying to make people believe he was neutral.

The studio crew was even worse than Fran and Musberger. One would have thought that OSU was playing the game by themselves. OU is up by 8 at the half, and the studio guys didn't even mention our name.

Heck, we had to sit through a split screen of Smart on the bench clapping for his teammates! Horrible job all the way around for the entire ESPN staff!!!

I'll keep saying it: Broadcasters focusing on a single player like Smart is bad for college basketball. The hype does harm to the game. Smart was not remotely the story tonight -- not by a mile. But they never adjusted, they never gave OU due credit, they never acknowledged that OU was the better team (for this one night at least).

And Smart's been getting that hype from Day One. There's no excuse for it.

The media is as dissapointed about this loss as poke fans are. A blurb at ESPN says the Sooners shock the Cowboys with a win in Norman. Then they talk about how many points Smart scored and showed a dunk by Brown.

ESPN strings along the easiest narrative for as long as they possibly can. They have no interest in nuanced analysis.

Forte was the story for OSU. Kid had a huge game. His shooting is the only thing that kept OSU from losing by 20+

does he do bball too ? when I heard his voice was sure was football.

I'm with you, Sky! The Smart, Ford, OSU hype was downright sickening at times. It was like OU wasn't even in the game, yet we never trailed from the first three or four minutes to the final buzzer.

OSU made a nice run to cut our 17 points lead to 9. But the truth is, despite what the announcers were saying, they were never a real threat to win this game.
