My take on Manek

Doubting coach Kruger!

I don't doubt coach Kruger. It's easy to see why they like him. There's a lot to like about him and his skill set. Maybe my expectations were too high for the kid but in the two games I saw him play he didn't stick out as a kid that's committed to the #1 team in the nation and a lot of that had to do with how hard he did, or didn't, play on both ends of the floor.

Ethan got hurt against Jenks right before the break. Left the game and couldn't come back. He wasn't supposed to play until the end of January but he wanted to try and help his teammates win the TOc. He didn't even play the last game because of it.

Just some background for you.

That makes sense, thank you.

Funny, I said the same thing about the Tisdale brothers and the Griffin brothers - both cases where the older brother seemed to out-work the younger brother in HS. I questioned both Wayman and Blake's "motors", along with Ryan Humphrey and a few others along the way. HS "motors" don't always translate well to the next level - positively or negatively.

As others have said, will be interesting to see what he does after big brother leaves.

I remember Lattin's motor being a problem when people watched him in HS.

Many on here didn't think LK should have taken Spangler. He likes Manek and it has convinced me!

Early last season when Lattin was a freshman, I was at a Tip-In Club meeting where one of the OU coaches said that Lattin would become a really good player at OU, although it may take a few years. I do not doubt that the OU coaches have a good eye for both talent and potential, including the potential to become a dedicated, hard-working student-athlete.

Time and effort.
Growth and maturity.
Coaching and development.

As an OU basketball fan, patience is a virtue. It is a pleasure to watch these guys grow up at OU.
