We will be a better team than last year's team barring something unforeseeable.
At the 1: Young is the best we have had. Shepard has benefitted immensely from Young coming aboard. Playing against Young every day has made him improved. All in all, we will be improved at the one.
At the 5: Lattin, Money and Freeman are all improved. Polla will give us something we have never had. A legit big with an interior body and mind set. all in all, we will be improved at the 5
At the 4: Doolittle and freeman are improved. Manek could be a game changer. He is still a little thin, but can "pick and pop" from the top of the key out of a ball screen. We haven't had that and this will prevent sagging that boggs down penetration and allows defenders to stay glued on the wing shooters. All in all, we are deeper and improved at the 4.
At the wing: I see us as being about the same as last year. Although, it is way too early to form an opinion on whether odomes, James and McGusty will be improved. Surely at least a little improved due to maturity but how much will be the question.
All in all, no way to know how much we will be improved, but I think we will be improved. As far as these summer games, the main point will be to mix and match different combinations and get some film to look at on all the players. Also, with our youth, the 10-20 additional practices (10 pre trip and 10 or so on the trip) will no doubt help this club start the year a little crisper.
