At the 5: Fitz, Arent and Honore are better than last year's Fitz and Honore.

At the 4: Osby, a stronger Neal and CJ are better than last year's CJ and Thompson

At the 2/3: Clark and newell appear improved, but will need to see pledger to determine whether wings will be as good as last year. Either way, I think we will be about as good.

At the point: Grooms and an improved Blair are light years ahead of blair and newell last year (even at the end of last year).

So, I don't know what this means relative to wins and losses. But, I think we will be appreciably more competitive this year and a better team.

Liked the look of Arent (he isn't a stiff at all and will bang) and grooms (easily the best ballhandler and on ball defender at the point in a while)

Agree that you can't tell much overall against an opponent like NSU

If we would have barely squeaked one out with the starters logging major minutes would you say the same thing? I say that only to confirm your observations, we had walkons playing in the first half and people are finding things "wrong" with the performance last night. The competition may not have been the greatest, but you have to give our kids some credit for playing well.

All good points. Last year's team struggled to beat everyone, including the cup cakes on our schedule. That, alone, is a marked improvement, especially since (as you correctly pointed out) Kruger all but emptied the bench in the first half.

I think cowboysooner was simply adding a footnote to his critique of last night's performance to show that he knew one cannot take much from a win over a weak opponent like NSU. IMO, his player analysis was spot on. This team is light years ahead of where we were last season at this time. If they continue to get better, we could break out of the losing streak we're in.

You said it better than I did Ada. I walk away from last night seeing that there are things that can be improved upon, but also seeing the positives. The competition wasn't great, but OU had something to do with that as well.
