Ironic to read that sentence in a story about Reaves.

by the way just by waiting until next summer (even if he didn't opt out ) he can make an extra 9 mil and he can make over 100 mil more if he opts out

6:00 p.m. ET: Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves has turned down a four-year, $89.2 million extension, sources confirmed to ESPN's Dave McMenamin. It comes as no surprise. In the summer of 2026, Reaves is eligible to sign a four-year, $98 million extension, or he can opt out of the final year of his contract, become an unrestricted free agent and be eligible for 25% of the salary cap for 2026-27. The Lakers made the offer, sources said, understanding that Reaves would turn it down, but the franchise wanted to show its interest in him nonetheless and would not have wanted to send the wrong signal by not offering it. Both sides, sources said, are motivated to find a deal next summer.

The Pacers confirmed that Haliburton won’t play at all next season. Expected news but still sucks. And makes it all the more silly that people were suggesting that JN should/could have been playing 7 months after his injury. There aren’t many injuries worse than an Achilles rupture for a basketball player. I hope JN is able to show the same athleticism that he had before the injury, but that’s not a given.
 
Cooper Flagg versus Bronny tonight. You talk about a mismatch. O/U on their point totals? I say Cooper with 19 and Bronny with 11.

I think that both of them have poor shooting nights.

Wrong on the point totals but both Bronny and Cooper had horrible nights shooting. Cooper has got a long way to go, but I think eventually he'll be a star.

Bronny is, well, he is Bronny.
 
Tony Kornheiser had some interesting comments about Cooper Flagg; basically, he said that Cooper shouldn't be bringing the ball up the floor. He doesn't protect the ball very well, and that should be the job of a guard anyway.

Isn't part of summer league to allow players to develop skills and work on their game? I don't think having a guy bring the ball up the floor in his two summer games means they plan on having him turn into the next Magic Johnson. Tony K is good at what he does, but he is not an NBA analyst/expert.
