I am more anxious to hear what happens with Preston

i doubt he ll have a big impact this year - can’t just step into the middle of conf play after not playing a minute and expect him to big a huge contributor. It’s been a over a month and Doolittle is just finally hitting the 20 minute mark.

Not for sure about this, but unlike Doolittle, I assume that De Sousa has been practicing with the team the whole season. That would be a big difference if so.

Yeah, but they need bodies and fouls on the Post right now. However, I’m in agreement with his effectiveness this year. Also, Preston is the big fish, it’ll be interesting what NCAA will do with him.

He has only been practicing since mid January as I understand it... this is from my KU friends up here.

His stat line for today reads 1 turnover and 1 personal foul, so there's room for him to improve.

He was still in high school until December. KU encouraged him to graduate early because they had no one to play in the frontcourt and it's essentially going to cost DeSousa a half season of eligibility.

I am honestly surprised the wawks hadn't found a way to make Preston eligible by now.

Yep, although he wasn't supposed to be at KU for 4 years. He didn't arrive until after Christmas if I remember right. So it was the end of December, if that, because there were issues getting him enrolled after New Years.

I'm not actually worried so much about him, because he's 6'9" and is more of a PF post, not a center. Preston would be a different story, and he's practiced since day 1. Self said yesterday there's no timetable for Preston to return. I wonder if that means he was denied/NCAA said we need more than this to clear him, because before yesterday, Self said a decision on Preston should come soon. Now it's "No timetable"

There ya go. Thanks!

If the KU streak doesn't end this year, it's never going to. This team has no business winning a conference championship.

I was torn on who to cheer for between tech and wvu for this very reason. Obvi wanted wvu to lose to help ou’s chances out but if we don’t win it then I think wvu has best chance to win outside of ku. Ultimately cheered for Tech because I believe we are the team to beat!

It was his idea to graduate early and reclassify, he had wanted to do it for a while. Won't likely cost him any eligibility down the road because he isn't likely to stay in school four years if his career goes as planned.

Re Preston, they have no timetable because it is in NCAA hands now. KU provided report to them a few weeks ago. Prior to that the delay was on KU preparing their report.

I sure hope you’re right about us being the team to beat.

KU has played about as easy a schedule as you could in Big XII play and already has a home loss. They are not even going to come in second place in the conference this year. They are a couple of bounces away from having three losses.

They are always a couple bounces away from not winning the conference. Whether it’s the refs or just pure choke jobs by their opponents, Lady Luck has always been on their side during conference play. The schedule sets up well for them if they get Preston back for their tougher part of the schedule. It will take a Herculean effort for a team to finally unseat them. Some team will have to take it from their cold, dead hands. Please let it be us!
