Thus far, there have been two mild upsets:
#11 Miami over #6 Washington
#10 Arkansas over #7 Northwestern

#4 Duke barely survived #13 Albany (omen?)
#7 Dayton survived Iowa State with some ease.

There are some games today that I think could be interesting.

Kentucky hasn't been strong recently, and they might get caught. Mississippi State could be eliminated by Tulane. SDS could make things interesting for Oregon State, and Gonzaga/George Washington is a toss-up. Then, there is Texas.

It's early yet, but right now, the Iowa-American and the Miss St-Tulane games are looking interesting.

To this point the Big-12 has been extremely disappointing both on the men's side and the women's.

I had hoped the Iowa State women would at least show up and be competitive.

They were a 10-seed playing a 7-seed on Kentucky's court. I'm not terribly surprised, ISU wasn't that good this year.

I'm rather surprised that Kentucky is doing so well. I wondered if they had fallen asleep. I really didn't see American putting up a good battle against Iowa. Iowa looked strong at the end of the year.

Iowa's starting to take control of the game. Not surprising considering that no 14- or 15-seed has ever won a single game in the history of the women's DI championship.

Texas A & M lost

Quite shocking that mastermind Gary Blair lost! I realized they lost their point guard a few weeks ago but hasn't aggie and Blair recruited better than everyone except Geno and Skeletor the last few years? AND they lost at home to UALR, who we had a uncalled for loss on their home court? What's up?

He just couldn't find anyway to win without Peyton. :ez-roll: :ez-laugh: ;)

That team playing UConn looked like 13 year olds next to them.

Some of today's games look interesting:

Mississippi State
Duke
both struggled in their openers

Miami
Iowa
Iowa didn't come out blazing like I thought they would.

Arkansas
Baylor
Oh. Well.

Dayton
Kentucky
I thought Kentucky was ripe for the taking until the first game blowout.

Syracuse
South Carolina
Syracuse can hang with them and make it close.

Gonzaga
Oregon State
Oregon State has been erratic recently.

DePaul
Notre Dame
Vacation time.

Texas
California
Interesting. Who decides to show up?

A&M was not playing at home. They played at Tempe, Arizona.

Dayton 99
Kentucky 94

Gonzaga 76
Oregon State 64

Anyone surprised? Gonzaga returns to Spokane for the regional.
