NCAA Tourney Thread

How do you not call a timeout with 10 seconds left and only down 2?
 
Well there is always that strategy of not taking it so the other team can't set up their defense but the way KSU was playing, I think they should of taken it.
 
Thus far, the Big 12 is taking a collective dump in the tournament.
 
Illinois blew a 16 point lead against Colorado, only to get on a run to take the lead back.
 
Florida GCU is fun to watch. They break faster than Billy's old teams. a good shooter or two and they'd be really good.

Talk about a roof-raiser! The whole crowd is cheering them on now.

March Madness is still the best ticket in town.

yeah, losing to these guys wouldnt be a bad loss. this is a scrappy little GC team and their point guard is rather savvy.
 
If and i mean IF we beat SDSU, Are we athletic enough to hang with FGCU? They are so fun to watch
 
True story. I knew nothing about FGC until the brackets were released. I wanted to pick against Georgetown, so I went and looked at FGC's roster. Saw that they had 3-4 guys that shot it pretty well from deep, and thought they might be a good upset pick. Not one single analyst, that I saw, blinked an eye at the game, so I kind of dropped it. Up until yesterday morning I wanted to post that I thought FGC could give them a game. I think seeing how badly they lost to VCU and Duke earlier in the season kept me from doing it.

Not saying I'd have picked it in a bracket, but on paper, I thought this had a chance to be a good one.
 
Oh, there also was a stat about teams not playing well in their first NCAA Tournament appearance. In theory, teams like Davidson and Belmont who have danced recently, should have had better showings than a team like FGC.

Fun team though.
 
I would too. But you can't help rooting for the Eagles.

Agreed.

I hate this rule. Defenders can hold on and lay all over the player with the ball and the contact is ignored. If he pivots to take control of the space he's entitled to with his arms extended to protect the ball, he runs the risk of a flagrant 1.

Something has to be done in the off season to correct this problem.
 
Georgetown poses just as many problems for us. They way they defend in the halfcourt, we'd struggle to score. I think we could defend them a little easier than FGC, but it's a pick your poison type deal.

I think you take your chances with the 15 seed, and hope the magic is short lived.
 
I haven't been watching the game. Is FGC this year's Cinderella team?
