I’d say maybe we should all pump the brakes a bit on any sweeping conclusions one way or the other, both as far as the football and basketball teams. I think our defense (and offense, for that matter) lacked physicality and consistent effort. Some of that certainly falls on position coaches, but the head coach and defensive coordinator also play a huge part in establishing that culture. If they aren’t demanding in those areas, there is only so much a position coach can do.
As for the basketball team, it seems premature to say this year’s team would “kick the crap” out of last year’s team. Last year’s team was in the top 10 in early February and had picked off a lot of highly ranked teams. This year’s squad is coming off a big win over a solid Florida team, and I’m incredibly excited about our potential. But we also have had a few games where you can see that offense may be a struggle against good teams, and we don’t have anyone who can create like Reaves could.
I’m confident we are going to end up with a great coaching staff, I just wish a few more of the commits hadn’t jumped ship because we had a couple great classes lined up.
Maybe so. I just like this years team better. Great classes for TBOW standards. They werent built for BV.
Gotta let the coach get his guys. If he fails, he did it his way and not with Tbow.
