5 minutes of Jordan Woodard highlights from high school & summer circuit. (Available in HD if willing to give it a little extra time to load).

Nice job, Sam! :clap

Woodard seems to have improved considerably since the last highlight video I saw last year. He appears to be a more complete player now. Is that an accurate assessment, or am I seeing things that aren't there now that he is at or near the top of OU's point guard list?

OMG he's Sam Grooms but with a jumpshot and layup making ability.

Sign him up. :woot

Thanks Sam.

Do you think the Sooners are in good standing to sign this very good PG?

Things I like about Woodard:

_Great handles, comfortable passing or finishing at the rim with either hand.
_Not afraid to drive the lane.
_Strong enough to absorb contact and still finish.
_Seems to prefer passing and penetrating defenses, the marks of a true point guard.
_Quick hands and feet, always a threat to steal the ball.
_Perimeter shot looks good. He didn't shoot much from the outside in this video. But I think it's safe to assume that he can score from the perimeter when need be.

He's not quite as heavy as Quannas White, but I'm hoping that is who he becomes. Looks like he'll have plenty of weapons on the court with him, so he won't have to be a primary scorer. He might be a little better off the dribble than White, but probably won't shoot it quite as well as Quannas did either.

Either way, I'm really excited. That will give us three full seasons of Woodard, Cousins, Hield, and Hornbeak together.

I like the Quannas White comparison. As evidenced by the way he absorbs contact in the lane, Jordan is already strong for a high school kid. Give him a year or two in OU's weight/workout program and the comparisons to Q could be even closer. I agree that his handles may be better, even now. I was very impressed by his ability to penetrate the lane and dish off or finish at the rim. He's really good at using his body to keep defenders at bay while he finds little creases to pass or shoot through.

I'm excited about this get! The only way to make it better is if Damian Jones and/or Jacob Hammond decide to pull the trigger this weekend.
