Next year's starting line up

That are massive differences between Dante and Ro and there is little chance, IMHO, that Buford will be an effective power forward. He needs to gear his game into being a 3, improve his handles and jump shot.

Osby was 6'8 230 and Buford is about 6'6 205. But the main difference is hand size and grip strength. Osby had big hands, good rebounding technique and a good crossover when needed. Buford will improve and will, hopefully, prove me wrong but for now I'm betting on Dante being a 3.

I don't think Buford is anywhere near athletic enough to play the 3. He is a stretch, or under-sized four.

Dante hurt himself his freshman year hanging out with the entitled football players. He had to regain his work ethic which apparently he did during the season. His is athletic and has some skills but obviously needs to improve.

My brother took a pic with Manyang today on campus. I take that as a good sign that he's still going to class ect. I bet he stays.

Although I'm sure he wants to be near his family, he has his own basketball family here. And i bet his late brother would want him to finish his OU career out. Well see. Goof luck AK

I hope he is right. Don't see it.

I'm skeptical, too, but I would have doubted that Stacey King could make the jump in production that he made during his junior year, so I'm hoping that Buford makes a similar leap during his third year on campus (not betting the rent on it, but I can hope).

Great news!

I still think AK could be a first rounder if he dedicates himself to being the best.

If Manyang returns next year, I see the lineup as Manyang, James and Woodard. Then, I think either Buford, Lattin or Doolittle start at the 4, and somebody else at one of the wing positions.

If Manyang doesn't return, then I see McNease/Lattin at the 5, buford or doolittle at the 4, james and Woodard, and somebody else outside.

If Manyang can stay healthy and eligible, I think he can be special inside next year. The one defining characteristic of a Kruger team is that everyone seems to get better individually. I know many disagree, but I think Manyang could make himself a top 15 pick by the end of next year if he is willing to listen and work.

so many options at the 4, it is hard to predict. It will depend upon who puts in the time between now and next year. I haven't seen Freeman, but Doolittle is a freak athlete and, if you haven't seen him, you will be surprised at how good he is.

Mcnease is coming on. he will be a significant contributor by next year, even if he doesn't start.

As far as the outside goes, I haven't seen Grandstaff, McGusty or Strong, so I will wait to predict playing time there. I think we would be fine with an improved Odomes. But, it may be that one of these kids is better, I just don't and can't have an opinion yet. Same with Freeman inside, Just haven't seen him.

All in all, I predict we dip a little, but remain a very good NCAA qualifying team. I do think we will revert to out offense of 2 years ago, and try and run everything inside out.

So Manyang couldn't beat out Lattin all year long and was behind Buford and McNease almost the whole year as well and you think he is going to start next year?

Lattin started all year, barring injury he starts next year

Yeah, Buford showed some good offensive game though he needs to stop the one-handed dunk move that was always getting blocked. :ez-laugh:

Rebounding and defense though, he has a long way to go. I mean a long long way to go. Maybe he can get there this summer but I agree, he needs to be better at both to play the 4 or we will get killed inside.

It appeared he would elevate too soon and was therefor out of position when the throw down was to occur.

I just hope that AK and Buford learn how to play D, rebound and pass. I guess that hope goes for the entire team
