Officiating

*Sigh*

That was a poorly officiated game for sure. The missed shot clock violation and three was huge and the refs making sure Spangler fouled out of the game really hurt OU down the stretch.

Did you think tonight's game was well officiated?

I didn't think it was poorly officiated.

There were some missed calls, but there always are. I really only had a problem with 2-3 calls, and one of those was a buzzer beater that came down to something like 2/10ths of a second. Those guys can't be expected to get all of those right, live. Sucks it wasn't reviewable, but it wasn't. Oh well. Sometimes those 2-3 calls even out, sometimes you get the advantage, and sometimes the other team does. But that isn't a very good KSU team. And they didn't shoot/play lights out. OU should be good enough to beat them, even with a couple of bad calls.

What a horrible performance. We lost to a team that made 13 shots. Here's an idea: get an offensive rebound every once in a while.

I've said it before and I'll keep saying it when ever it's appropriate. Officials need to be held accountable. No one expects them to be perfect but a +18 point advantage in free throws plus a blown shot clock call is more than your normal 'home court advantage'.

Can't remember the last time OU lost and the refs weren't blamed.

Sound like a bunch of aggies in here.

I can't think of a single other loss this year that was overwhelming blamed on the officials to this extent.

I thought it usually gets blamed on Thomas.

Why can't they review the shot clock violation? Doesn't make any sense.

Out of curiosity, I checked the stats on made free throws for our Big XII home games on SoonerSports.com. Through the 6 home games we have 26 more points scored on free throws than our opponents or an average of 4.33 points. we had 2 games where we had fewer points than our opponents, which brought the average down.

So, yes, when our opponent scores 15 points more than we do on free throws, i'm going to call people's attention to it.

You sound like my referee friends, lol.

In my opinion, the officials played too big a role in the game by allowing the game to be physical on one end and not on the other. K-State needed the game called a certain way and that's the way it was called. You can say OU didn't adjust but I think it was tough because of the inconsistency on each end.

I am more upset that OU is a better team than K-State and didn't win...twice!!

What a joke..

I agree with MsProud but I will go a step further..those guys need fired.

Then you are either. A trolling. Or B a moron. We got jobbed tonight

A great number of fouls that I saw could have been called or non-calls. It seemed that if K-State had the ball, they were fouls---somewhat unnecessary, but fouls. When OU had the ball, the same thing was a non-call. Even the flagrant on Buddy would have been better as a non-call, or why not a call on the K-State player for reaching in front, in the path?

Anything more than a ten-shot disparity is always questionable.

I have not watched the game yet but something is wrong when a team scores 28 of 59 points from the line.

KSU attacked and we hacked. There were a handful of questionable calls at the most. They forced the issue with aggressive penetration. Just go look at the Oklahoman game photos. Every 3rd photo has us fouling them.

it was not that simple. They would allow contact one time down the floor that the next time similar contact was a foul. Made it tough for deciding how physical to be. OU also attacked the basket but we had foul calls on several drives that they deemed were on the floor before the shot, so no free throws.

I've never posted complaining about refs, but last night warrants it. Just ****ty. All around bad. Also, what happened to cleaning up the game by calling fouls out front? They started it last year, coaches griped and now it's back to bludgeon ball on the perimeter.

I have never complained about the officiating in a game. Not since Hightower. This was clearly over the top. The officials determined the outcome of the game with the fouls on Spangler and the shot clock non-call. Incompetent if not malicious.

Then there were a lot of questionable games yesterday.

KU took 11 more FT's than Baylor.
ISU took 18 more FT's than WVU (18, where have I seen that number?).
TCU took 12 more FT's than OSU.
UT took 16 more FT's than TT.

And of course KSU took 18 more than OU.

It's pretty ridiculous to say anything more than a 10 shot difference is questonable, when ALL FIVE BIG 12 GAMES YESTERDAY had at least an 11 shot difference.

Guessing if I looked around the country, you'd see the same thing.

It's whining from our fans, plain and simple.

KSU was aggressive like at the end of the first half were Hield beats Foster to the all, Foster runs into Hields arm andirons is a Flaggerant one. Sure thing. That is a horrible call.
