That was a great first half. Just terrific. UCSC shot terribly (we had something to do with that, of course), and they're bound to pick it up a little in the second half, but we played very well indeed.

After the first few games (including exhibitions), I was worried that all we could do defensively was press/trap and get turnovers. Today is the complete opposite. Very little pressure beyond the 3 point line, but we haven't given SC very many easy/open shots. They've only turned it over 4 times, but they are shooting 25% from the field. This is probably my favorite thing about LK. It's obvious to me already that he'll switch up what we do on a game by game basis, if necessary, to give our guys the best chance to win the game.

I think Andrew Fitzgerald just played his best half of basketball at OU. He defended, he rebounded and he was involved in the offense. Obviously he did nit score a lot of points but he has to be close to 10 boards. If he consistently rebounds, OU can be a good team. I get that this is not a big Santa Clara team but Andrew deserves a lot of praise for that half of ball.
