What I like about this team is that there isn't a "guy". Capel always wanted there to be the "guy". That's fine when you have Blake Griffin, but not with players like Willie Warren, Tommie Mason Griffin, or Tiny Gallon. This team plays like a team and that is all Lon Kruger. Kruger is going to put all of our players in a position to be successful, doing what they do well. That is what makes good basketball teams.
I have no idea if this team can find their way onto the bubble, but I actually wouldn't be surprised if it happened. Even if not, though, they will find a way to beat some teams they're not supposed to beat and I think we'll see great effort every time they play. That is how Kruger turns programs around. This team will lay a foundation for next year and Kruger can recruit. He won't necessarily recruit burger boys, but he is a great evaluator of talent and he will put together some really good teams.
This win was huge for this team. There is no way they beat Wazzu last year at this time of the year. This win tells the players they are doing things right, and they will continue to buy in to what Kruger is doing.
