Yep the fundamental part about boxing out that is forgotten is to hold position even after the shot hits the rim. Players go to the ball instead of holding their man off.

If you box out properly the ball can hit the floor after it bounces off the rim

What stupid is if you don’t have the size adv... like today... it’s a huge boost for your team to box out. Get a couple over the back calls (which almost nonexistent anymore) and guys start backing off.

I agree with comments on boxing out but easier said than done against their strong bigs. They can keep nudging you under the bucket with no call and then get boards without getting called. Just have to be as tough as possible and keep fighting.
