Nevertheless, you stated before the tournament, that Dayton was a top 30 team. In your worldview, that would make Dayton, at worst, one of the better #8 seeds. But 3 weeks later, after OU beat them, you emphasize that they were merely an 11 seed. The obvious implication is that it somehow diminishes OU's accomplishments. Surely you can see why this kind of cognitive dissonance might cause some to question the true intent of most of your posts.

(You'll also recall that I agreed with you that I didn't want Michigan State in our region ;))
 
11 seeded Dayton was better than 6 seeded Providence, so...

Why? Because you disagree with what he says? What kind of a board would that be?

I fail to see the point of creating a board whose only purpose is to reinforce group think. "Agree with us, or you're banned!"

I think Boca just creates arguments for the sake of arguing. Maybe he believes everything he says, but I doubt it. Even so, to get rid of a guy you disagree with just because you disagree with him is ridiculous.

You've answered your own question. Intentionally creating arguments for the sake of arguing is the very definition of trolling, and that's an activity that'll get one kicked off many message boards.

Mind you, I'm not calling for boca to get booted; I'm just responding to your question. I blocked him long ago and read no more 10% of his posts, so he's no more than a mild irritant to me.

I don't know that he actually needs to be banned.... I just want to know how he's related to Jeff Capel.... who sucks, by the way.
 
Yeah I was wrong about everything. The Big 12 was not overrated. Michigan State was not better than OU. The ACC was not better than the Big 12. Capel didn't recruit this Duke team. Coach K didn't call him the MVP of this title team. Capel didn't beat every worse seeded team he faced in the NCAA at OU. He didn't coach us to the Elite 8. Frank Booker wasn't a long shot unranked 3 star who probably wouldn't amount to much. Donald Sterling wouldn't be forced to sell the Clippers. On and on and on b

The funny thing about the pathetic homer groupthink around here, the more people disagree with me on an issue the more likely I will be proven right. lol lol lol
 
Who cares. CBS and their networks showed how much they wanted OU to win with the promos and announcers during the MS game. Who cares about their shining moment bs

I acutally enjoyed this years OSM a lot minus the no OU highlight.

I really liked seeing the emotion. especially the father son moments

Yeah. When you volume spitball, a few are bound to hit their mark. Regarding your Michigan State claim, for example, you specifically said OU was "not better Michigan State, Ohio State, Georgetown and a host of other teams" which, apparently included, among others, SMU and VCU. The entire reason that became such a huge argument was because you insisted that teams like SMU and Arkansas deserved the 3 seed over OU. By the way, how did that great SMU team do against a lowly 11 seed?

I don't want you to get banned. I think that's pretty childish. At the same time, I don't have a problem pointing out that the vast majority of your posts are intentionally designed to inflame people on this message board. That's not being a contrarian. It's being a troll.

It is not childish to remove people from your life that intentional inflame you, it is rational. Childish would be beating him up.

I agree that it's trolling but if people just are able and willing to ignore the posts that are deliberately designed to inflame them, he becomes nothing more than a mild irritant. If we don't get all worked up by those posts, he'll either start making ratonal comments, or go away on his own. I can admit to not following my own advice a time or 2.

I just disagree with the notion that anyone should be banned simply for posting contrarian views. If he likes Capel and can defend it, so be it. I don't agree but so what? He thinks the Big 12 was terrible. I thought that was nutty but message boards are designed to debate those things.

This, or any, message board would be extremely boring if everyone had to have the same opinion or they'll be banned.
 
For those of you who think boca is a troll, I would encourage you to take a different approach and attempt to prove him wrong. He may have opinions or beliefs that differ from your own, and yes, most of the time people are only interested in having their own beliefs reaffirmed by like-minded individuals, but if he says something you don't like, simply prove it wrong.

You would be surprised how many times he isn't wrong, yet has the most unpopular opinion on the board.

Him starting multiple threads in the past week or so about Capel are trolling attempts. To suggest otherwise is laughable. Should he be banned because of this?? Absolutely not.
