I heard it on the sports report in Tulsa. Can it be true?
Cunningham will get all the headlines, but that kid they got from Canada intrigues me the most. Canada has been producing good basketball prospects lately and this kid was the Canadian player of the year.
They should redshirt Likekle even though he's a good player... He won't play much point with Cade Cunningham out there and he can't shoot worth a damn. Redshirt him and let him work on his shooting all year.
They have tons of talent for next year... #1 player in America, #1 player in Canada, Mr. Basketball from Nebraska, sharp shooting grad transfer, plus the freshman from last year (Avery Anderson, Chris Harris, Keylan and Kaleb Boone...
They didn't have much coming back though right? Never know how 4-5 Freshmen will handle it and I'm sure it will take them awhile to put it all together.
Returning from last year is:
Isaac likekle
Yor Anei
Avery Anderson
Chris Harris
Keylan Boone
Kaleb Boone
Hidde Roessink
Adding to that group:
Cade Cunningham (#1 player in America)
Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe (#1 player in Canada)
Donovan Williams (Nebraska's Mr. Basketball, 4 star player)
Ferron Flavors (#1 3pt shooter in the WAC last year, grad transfer)
Rondel Walker (4 star point guard recruit)
Montreal Pena (6'9'' 200 power forward recruit out of Texas)
It's extremely talented roster. Most talent OSU has had on a single team since John Lucas, Joey Graham, Tony Allen, etc.
Make no mistake, OSU is a ****-show right now, and would continue to be indefinitely had they not bought the best player money could buy. They will win low-20s, get bounced in the second round, and then sign Boynton to an extension.
I do not envy them in the slightest.
Ben Simmons couldn't overcome crappy coaching to get LSU into the tournament. I'm not ready to predict Cunningham will be able to do it.
Man, if they had a good coach, they might be a dangerous team. If only
Ben Simmons darn near beat us if not for a clutch Cousins jumper from the FT line.
Simmons (14 Points 9 Boards and 5 TOs) did not almost beat OU by himself. In fact, he got whipped that day by Ryan Spangler (16 Points and 10 Boards) or at least matched before a packed arena. Buddy was the man in that game with 32 points and 8 triples. The fans gasped every time he touched the ball.
