Yea but there is a difference between being wrong in predicting how good a player is/will be and flat out lying about a factual statement. I don’t know if you heard the comment or not, but it was pretty clear that he was basing it off a conversation with Kelvin. I think he even said something along the lines of, Kelvin got Uzan for a discount.

It’s honestly not a big issue. I just thought it was interesting that Los didn’t just jump at the highest offer. He wanted to go somewhere where he could win at an high level and also develop under a great coach.
Idk if there are any factual statements regarding NIL..

I'm sure Sampson would say something like that anyway just to make his players look good and to help with sampson's recruiting pitches to others, similarly situated.. you really think uzan had bigger suitors for his services?

Most say that but it’s not always the reason

Yea, I do. I mean, Houston was looking to replace the best PG and leader in the county, and they made Los their primary target all along. So I don’t think it’s crazy to think there were plenty of schools after him. And some of them probably have bigger NIL budgets than Houston.

I personally don't think uzan was their 1st target at all as I imagine they could have done much better with the profile Houston has built up in recent years.

They were going after someone else first. But Los was a good get by houston

Well the guy just about put up a 20 point triple double with no turnovers in the Phog. I’m not sure many other point guards from last year’s portal would be able to do that. But I guess OU fans will always think poorly of the guy because he didn’t live up to expectations here last season.

I stated earlier that I hadn't been overly impressed with Uzan...but his game against Kansas last night was better than any game I watched him play last year. He was not only hitting his open shots, but making some clutch assists as well. If OU doesn't make the Dance this year and Moser loses his job, one can point to his legacy as not being able to keep either Uzan or Oweh. Though I miss Oweh a lot more, a roster with Oweh, Uzan, J Moore and J Fears sounds pretty good right about now.

my thoughts exactly. I always hear how it's not fair to pm bc he never has the talent.. well, now his talent is on top 10 teams. Riddle solved - pm is the problem

You can’t argue that PM hasn’t recruited well. The issue has been retention. Imagine Uzan, Oweh, Cooper, Fears, and Moore playing together. Athleticism through the roof 🙃

Edit: Add in that Mason kid from 2021-2022. He’s averaging 11 points for Arizona St. I’d take him over Elvis.

Believing anything Fran says about NIL is silly. There’s a lot of BS that gets talked about with NIL. Los had several offers and Houston was going after other players as well. Houston has a billionaire funding their program, so they can be competitive in NIL.

It’s more likely Los had similar offers and maybe 1-2 that were a little more than Houston’s offer, but it wasn’t substantially more or he would’ve taken it. All things equal, he’d rather play for Sampson, for good reason. Wichita’s act is so tired and worn out. His intention is to insult OU and everyone at OU for their failures, almost a vendetta. He has become an anti-fan. Everything he posts has a barb against OU. He’s giddy when we lose and he posts his barbs when we win. It’s sad and pathetic. And old. It gets really old.

Agree this was his best game of his career. He was tremendous in the phog. Love seeing Ku lose!

If ou had kept uzan, I don’t think they get fears. Ou upgraded at pg by a decent clip imo.

houston has a massive NIL budget for basketball ..

But what does he do when he has them? Nothing

Whining about Wichita is more annoying imo. Use the ignore list and move on
