Other College BBall Thread 2024-5

At halftime of the Michigan St/Rutgers broadcast today, the CBS studio show played a clip from Indiana’s last home game. A LOUD “fire Woodson” chant broke out, I think mainly in the student section.

Interesting hearing Fran just now talking about Los. He said he had much bigger NIL offers from other schools but took a big discount because he wanted to play for a program like Houston. He also said Kelvin/Houston hand picked Los as the guy they wanted to step in and be their PG.

He’s perfect for Houston. He was expected to do too much at OU last year. He’s a low mistakes, good game manager guy. He’ll never be in the NBA like we thought freshman year.

that NIL talk is simply not true ..

It is absolutely incredible how tough Houston is. Down 6 with 8 seconds left in OT in the Phog. Hit a three, then Los makes a brilliant play to steal the inbound and Houston hits a three. Bidunga from KU is so good, but got away with tackling a guy for what should have been his 5th foul. Houston missed their first 8 FTs in the second half but just keeps battling their butts off.

17, 9, and 9 with zero turnovers for Los in probably the toughest win I’ve ever seen a team pull off in Lawrence. Impossible to describe if you didn’t watch the game.

What a terrible loss by KU....they were the better team most of the game and still end up losing. Mayo was awful.
Oh I think Houston outplayed them for long stretches but just couldn’t make FTs of threes. They turned the ball over 5 times in 50 minutes, had 17 assists, and did a lot of good things.

If KU makes their FTs, they win the game in regulation. KU blew this game, not that I’m complaining. I love it when KU loses.

In Vegas earlier today, the UNM Lobos edged UNLV and its 35-year-old player-coach Jalen Hill (just kidding), 75-73.

But what possible basis would he have to lie about Uzan’s NIL? It’s not like Los’s NIL deal is going to lead to increased ratings lol.
Fran portraying that he knows everything (his "factoids" do increase ratings bc he looks credible to derps).. also remember when his unimpeachable knowledge as the foremost expect on foreigners said that matt freeman was really a 5 star but didn't get the ranking bc he didn't play in the US lolol

Yea but there is a difference between being wrong in predicting how good a player is/will be and flat out lying about a factual statement. I don’t know if you heard the comment or not, but it was pretty clear that he was basing it off a conversation with Kelvin. I think he even said something along the lines of, Kelvin got Uzan for a discount.

It’s honestly not a big issue. I just thought it was interesting that Los didn’t just jump at the highest offer. He wanted to go somewhere where he could win at an high level and also develop under a great coach.
