OU at horns

I hate to say it but this program has been a shell of itself since the final four run . Obviously talent is the major problem but development / coaching / system is not far behind .This staff use to be special ,without henson and company they are average at best .

I still love Kruger but this current staff is just not cutting it .

15 -27 The last three years in conference ........that’s not OU basketball

A team that was winless in the conference shouldn't have beaten KU today but they did.

The only thing I know for sure is that if any team has an attitude as bad as the posters on this board, they are beaten before the tipoff.
Exactly...

With tt, ku, wv, isu, bu, ut, tcu coming to norman the odds are really good we wont win them all...

You proved my point...thanks

The loss of the 2 assistants was a killer

How come you didn't mention this when we were 11-1?

I wish LK would have gone zone, Texas isn't a great perimeter team. But that's all in hindsight.

McNease was better tonight, he needs to continue that down the stretch.

I was yelling at the TV for Lon to go zone since we couldn't keep Coleman or Roach in front of us. The guys played hard and fought, but this wasnt one of Lon's better days.

Obviously not where you were , making my early season brackets wondering should I pick OU sweet sixteen or elite eight .

OU were paper tigers they beat a bunch of mislabel teams at best . Florida , 7 losses already .
Dayton , SC , and woodford are the only teams out of all those wins that even
have a winning record in their own conference .

Dayton and wofford would have a losing record if they played in a power 5 .

We beat a bunch of average to bad teams and homers like yourself fell for it .

15 -27 ......and it’s going to be worse by seasons end , is this what OU basketball has become ?

That we brag about early season wins only to finish in the bottom of our conference early after year after year ?

I notice you didn't answer my question in all that ranting. I also don't see where you point to me bragging about any specific nonconference win. I'll ask you again ... if it is so plain to you that our staff is substandard, why didn't you have the foresight to make that point until we lost two in a row? Also, while I'm sure you are smarter than college basketball experts, I'll go ahead and trust the unanimous consensus of every credible ranking system, which is that our noncon was one of the best in America.

Hmmmm ... every other metric in the world has OU's non-conf schedule as one of the hardest. I think I will take their word for it over your own.

It's considered one of the hardest because of how few home games we played coupled with playing so few "gimmes". Still, we had to know that if CJ wasn't going to maintain his high level of early season play, it was going to hurt us come conference time. Throw in Manek still not finding his range, Reynolds not playing as well as he did early in the season, and McNeace's injury - and we're lucky not to be 1-5 in conference play. Fortunately, there is time to get things turned around, but it needs to start happening quickly.

Agree with every single thing you said right there. You look for guys to step it up when things get intense. Despite him being a little out of control at times this is where I applaud RO. He would make a move even with the tight physical play and overplay whereas CJ and some others seem to become shrinking violets.

Beating a team below average team , is a beating a below average team ...unless you are computer .

It thinks beating a team that loses 25 games a season is much less impressive than beating a team that loses 15-20.

Again show all these tourney teams we have beaten so far ?

It says so much that you wait until we lose a 3 pt game on the road in conference to an NCAA tournament team to proclaim "the sky is falling!!!!!"

Florida State lost today. Two straight conference losses to unranked teams. They need to fire all the assistants ... clearly their ranking and the first two months of the season are meaningless and were a result of beating bad teams.

Just watched the first half of the game before I had to leave for work. I have some thoughts.

Cons: We miss way too many shots
Our 3 point defense is not good. How many open looks can you give their best
shooter?
Again, for the billionth time, the officiating was awful. The first charge out of the
gate against Christian James was a terrible call. The defender slid to the left
under him. I have no idea what the ref was looking at. Should have been an
and-1, instead it was a turnover and a foul on our best player. Also, Texas was
shoving and holding everywhere.
McNeace is still having issues. I don't know what they are but he has issues.
Our rebounding was awful, just horrific. We don't block out and we don't get
long rebounds off missed threes.

Pros: Bieniemy is emerging and impoving every game. I expect he won't ever come
off the bench again.
Looks like the Matt Freeman experiment might be over. Thank all that is holy.
That's about all the postitives I take from this game.

I'll watch the second half later, and if I observe anything different I will amend this.
