OU at horns

20 wins..I think is pretty good for this team, maybe pick up one or two more in the tournament and called it a good season.

I'm surprised how many people think we do a terrible job defending the three. We clearly have had issues with that in past seasons, but this year we are statistically one of the best teams in the country at it. Even last night, Texas shot an awful percentage and only made 5. Roach hit two or three in quick order in the first half and obviously the late three hurt, but sign me up for 5-22 any day. And even if you think Texas missed some open ones, our season numbers show it isn't luck.

The offense looked great in the second half, but that is still by far my biggest concern. We finally avoided the early turnover issue, but still got off to a terrible start. Just like in Lawrence, we could have been up double digits early if we had played better offense.

the offense did look good in the second half. I hope we learned something for the future there.

I finally got the courage to rewatch the last several minutes. Watching live, I was on the fence as to whether JB's last three was a good shot, but seeing it again, I definitely agree with Lon that it was a very good look. He shook him man and got as much separation as you can ever hope to get in that situation, and the shot was right on line and halfway down. Can definitely live with that look.

The two late turnovers on James were the difference, we were scoring at a high rate but two possessions without a shot attempt at the end of a tight game are tough to overcome.

Texas is NCAA tourney lock team now ....why because they beat us ?
I honestly can't tell if you're trying to troll at this point.

Nobody said Texas is a lock, and no team is a lock this early in the season, but if the season ended today, Texas would probably be in.

I called Texas a tournament team, and they likely will be. Of course, at this point nearly no one is a lock. UT could lose out, I suppose, but in all probability they're going to be easily in.

And, yes, he is trolling.

There is a great chance Texas has a losing record in conference and maybe .500 for the season overall( could have losing record) , if they do get in they will be a fringe type team .
Texas is not a good team
Saying they are a tourney team is like predicting next weeks lotto numbers.

I've watched Texas a few times this year and I didn't think they were worth a damn either. But they give us trouble whether we are great, mediocre or lousy.

OU is not good enough to beat any team in the Big 12 on their own floor if they don’t come ready to play. And, even then, getting a win on the road will not be easy. That’s true of every team in the conference, including KU. Ask Bill Self if beating an 0-5 bottom feeding WVU went the way the so-called experts thought it would?

There are no dominant teams in conference this season. KU may win the title again, but if the loss in Morgantown and the close call in last night’s ISU game doesn’t convince you of that, nothing will. KU is not even the best team. They just have the best player. If Dedric Lawson gets as much as a hang nail that slows him down, the Jayhawks conference winning streak will be over.

I'd respectfully disagree -- until someone can actually beat them over the course of 18 games, I give them the respect of being the best team. ISU looks great at their best, but also dumped two straight right after beating KU. Tech took over first place, then immediately lost two in a row.

I think sometimes "dominance" is talked about too much -- for most of last season, people considered that KU team the worst Self has had because they had no depth, yet they won the league easily in the end. Of all the Big 12contenders, KU has the most potential for growth because they play a bunch of freshman and they are still adjusting to not having Doke. And of course, the trump card is Allen Fieldhouse -- everyone else already has a home loss, so unless someone can win in Lawrence, KU has a huge edge. They don't have to be dominant if they can continue winning close games, and history shows that is likely to be the case.

That sorry team beat North Carolina and Purdue and nearly beat both KU (in Phog) & Michigan St. They're ranked #29 by kenpom. They're making the tournament whether you like it or not. Your bias is showing.

I say let's be concern about our team making the tournament first

With, it seems parity...0'fer wv beats ku, our seemingly lack of offense at crucial times..

I wouldn't be surprised to see OU lose more than they win for the rest of the season...nor see them win a few more.

I would say odds are we aren't winning much more than 6 or so. Need 7 out of 12 to go .500, that will be tough.

Need to keep my expectations real.
