OU at ISU

Morgan had a bad first half. We're getting our butts kicked on the boards.

To win this one we're going to have to play out of our gourds the rest of the way.

I wonder why Sherri doesn't play Kornet when the game is no longer in doubt?
It's not like she could do much worse than the others tonight.

We just got killed on the boards. When ISU shoots the ball, they actually make an effort to get the offensive board. When we shoot, we make little or no effort to rebound the miss.

I really thought this game would be close. I had no idea they would dominate us inside like they did nor did I expect them to dominate the boards.

We never got into rhythm in our offense. Shots were mostly rushed and/or off balance.

Defense was good early but deteriorated in the second half.

Morgan Hook looked absolutely terrible. No energy and very lethargic. Aaryn wasn't much better. They arrived at ISU knowing they were going to lose. Good game, ISU. Go Cyclones! I will not applaud that effort, Sooners.

Victory in itself: Nobody else lost to season-ending injury.

Was happy to see some of our benchers get more playing time, even in defeat, also.

We are like the Duke men: Live and die by the 3. Alas, we haven't had the blessing of being able to make it till this week undefeated and getting to enjoy the No. 1 poll spot like the Doookies

I didn't get to see but the last 6 or 7 minutes of the game so I can't comment on the effort or lack thereof.

I did get to see the officials call 2 double fouls in a short span of time. As far as I'm concerned, a double foul is just an admission by an official that they weren't watching what was going on and they have no idea what happened. Someone fouled their opponent and the opponent retaliated but the official was wool gathering and didn't see what happened, so what the hey - I'll just call a double foul. It's bad enough that they call one in a game, but to call two boggles the mind. Were they wearing blinders? Do they have tunnel vision? :facepalm

I agree ... those double-fouls almost seem like "bail-out" moves by the officials. They allow the game to fall apart by making no calls, then try to gain control with those calls. Oh well, at least it didn't happen in a tight game and turn out to be costly. ISU simply put it on us last night. Morgan struggled and Jo got into foul trouble quickly to start the 2nd half and that sorta left us out in the cold. They shot it really well too; better than I thought they would - especially from 3. We'll get 'em in Norman!

Terrible game but time to forget this and move on. In the Big 12 you don't have time to dwell on losses or you'll lose another. Get ready for the whorns on Saturday!

ISU owned the paint, Griffin had no chance, she was lost and finally Sherri just took her out.
