OU-Auburn Box Score

McNease continuing to steal minutes from Lattin. I don't think Kruger liked Lattin vs their big freshman.

We get 22 more shots from the field on 17 to 8 off. board advantage and turn it over 9 fewer times.......? SMH. Still, Shepard looks to have played OK aside from the turnovers. Didn't see the game though so not sure if that's really the case.

from reading this board, it seems people don't realize that woodard did not play

One senior played last night and he went 8-14 from the field and scored 21 points. He was the difference in the game.

Shepherd continues to impress me. He may end up being a better version of a blend of Austin Johnson and Cousins.

He's the best player on the team at this point. He's the only offensive player we have playing within himself. James is to concerned about scoring, play hard D and rebound like it means your life. Do this and the scoring will come.Quit forcing it.

You've obviously forgotten that Jordan Woodard plays for OU.

Shepherd has really grown on me the last two games. He seems to be unbelievably steady and calm, and runs whatever we run the most smoothly of any of the 3 that've played PG this year. He's made some great passes. He is a great ballhandler and doesn't make foolish TOs. He also appears to have the ability to score alot for a point guard. I'm not really going to compare him to anyone else currently on the team, but when he's in, he is one of the guys I feel OU can count on right now. Unbelievable that people were talking about him being a redshirt candidate. Another great find by Lon and co..

Lol 4th or 5th is still a stretch. I love what he has brought, he's better than I expected right away. But watch both ends of the court.

I like his offensive game and the way Shep runs the point, but he does get abused at times on defense. An offseason in the weight room will do wonders for him. His play has been the biggest positive for me so far this season.

I'm still waiting for McGusty to break out. I think he will surprise some people this season.

Yup...

I'd like to see Doolittle really let go. I like his game

I've actually watched him pretty closely that last two games and I haven't seen really any horrible defensive issues. Yes, he's a pick chicken physically. But if you want to talk getting abused, Christian James and Buford would fit that category more from what I've seen. He actually has had some steals and blocks. And he seems to have the quickness to stay in front of guys fairly well. We should probably withhold judgement on his D until we get more of a sample. But yes, an offseason in the weightroom will help tremendously. Wish he'd had more minutes before the Big 12 grinder, i'll bet Lon in hindsight feels the same.

I didn't get to watch yesterday but against Memphis everyone's guy was left open bc shepherd would get left. I agree Buford is bad too but James is way ahead of shepherd defensively.

When you say "get left" do you mean straight up outquicked, or on switches and picks?

Fair enough, i'll have to go back and focus on him more in the Memphis game. If it actually happened, i'll give him a little bit of a pass as it was his first extensive playing time, ever. Plus it's not as if our other guards don't have their jocks strewn out there quite a bit. Plenty of sample to see that.
