Great start for Peyton. 12 points on four of five shooting.

29-16? at the end of the first

I don't think there has been an offensive rebound for OU this quarter. One and done. And most of them were contested drives to the bucket. Might as well shoot from the half-line. Might get a long rebound that way.....:o

Halfway through the second...up seven. We've scored one bucket this quarter.

Ugly ugly basketball....

26-33 OU two minutes to go in the first half

It has been frustrating to watch this quarter. I think we have scored 7 points. Ok 10 now with Derica's 3 pointer.

6-0 run to end the half 26-39 OU

A three by Maddie and Derica.

Might as well shoot the three. We've had very little luck going inside or driving inside. More turnovers and missed shots trying to go inside.

First half stats

Little 12points
Ortiz 8
Vivi 8

Maddie with 8 rebounds
Edwards with 3 turnovers

This from Kevin Pelton ESPN

Oklahoma was stuck on four points in the second quarter before finishing with back-to-back 3s to take a 39-26 lead to the locker room. The Sooners are 6-of-19 (31.6 percent) on 2-point attempts and 8-of-15 (53.3 percent) on 3s.

Our players really do not place even the tiniest value on rebounding. Even with SC making that a major point of emphasis the past two weeks, if you watch, when we shoot, as it leaves the shooter's hands everyone - including the shooter - tears down the court away from the basket.

Why in the world would anyone want to play that way?

I really don't understand the substitution pattern???

I thought IJ played good in the first half. So Sherri brings in Treece and she quickly has a turnover. Moving screen. ???

:facepalm

OU up 50-35 halfway through the third quarter.:dance005:

End of the third

OU up 53-44

Dungee with a couple of mistakes. She had a flagrant one foul. Got trapped and should have called timeout. She hasn't played as well the last five or six games.

I see what you're saying. Totally agree. It has something to do with our outside four guard offense. But it seems only Maddie goes to the glass.:facepalm

Again with the subs....

Give up two easy buckets with subs guarding....:facepalm

OU up seven

57-50 Seven thirty left in the game.

I think it's going to come down to the wire.:o

Ortiz needs to learn how to pace the game...when to speed up, when to slow it down. Sherri pulled her when she threw that too tall pass to vivi.

If SC wants to have a chance to win, she better get TT and Gioya off the court. They have played this way since high school. Gamble, drive into the trees, miss shots, throw the ball way....

Well, I could go on and on.

Maddie with a big three from the corner. Great assist from Peyton.

OU up ten 67-57 with 4:04 left

Final OU 75
Zags 62

Good balanced scoring by the starters.

Good game by the sooners and the Sweetest OU Girl.

Maddie needs some ice for her butt over the next 48 hours.

Gabbi, you are allowed one foul in the first half and one foul in the second half - that's all! ;-)

Kudos to the Sooner fans at the game. I didn't expect to see more Sooner fans than Gonzaga fans there. I guess the Gonzaga road warriors all follow the men.

I'm rather surprised that Little woke up so well. She has been asleep late in the season. Good shooting, rebounds, and assists. Other than that, this is about what the team statistics for Gonzaga would have projected. I expected a slightly better performance from three from the Zags, but not much better.

In their conference, BYU had the best rpi (90). Gonzaga had simply played a very weak schedule after playing about three tough non-conference games. They even lost to a couple of teams that were 243 and 314. You wouldn't really expect a great team. Our work begins now.
