OU has offered Stevie Clark

I don't know what Stevie thinks of the Sooners but the east side of town is buzzing with this news. They are very excited to have OU offer a homegrown kid from OKC. The whole community has been more impressed with Lon than they ever were with Capel.

This is great news because the east side of OKC has produced some studs and most of them did not go to OU (football and basketball included).

I have seen all 3 repeatedly and I think you could play them all at the same time. I don't care what their height is, the two little guys can play. OU was just fine with Hollis and Quanis out there and these guys are the same.

Clark has the ball on a string and can really, really, really see the floor well. This year I think his shot selection is a LOT better. He has a great burst and can score.

Woodard is an athlete, athlete, athlete. If he develops a consistent jumper he is scary good. You get him in the open floor and let Stevie spot up off of him, good luck.

Parker is the bigger guard. Can really score in a variety of ways. You give him a good PG to play off of, he could be really good too.

Harris, he is a nice player and I can confirm that he is 6'1. I don't think right now he is at the level of the other 3, but at the same time he is a year younger.

For those who have seen all 3 (Clark, Parker, and Woodard)...What level of athlete are they?? I am sure all 3 would be athletic upgrades in our backcourt to what we are trotting out there right now. And also...Who in the NBA could you compare them too as far as what kind of player they could potentially be??

Brett, if you could just have one, who would you take and why? I haven't seen any of them, but have had several tell me that Woodard is going to be unbelievable down the road.

I've seen Clark play in person several times. He has some nice handles and seems to crash the boards hard for a PG. He has good speed and very quick hands on defense. He does throw up some ill advised shots at times and forces plays that aren't there but some Kruger coaching and maturity should fix that. Glad the Sooners offered another in state kid.

I don't watch high school basketball but I would suspect that is classic high school basketball and I agree 100% that Kruger or his college coach will correct that problem.

I'll take a personal, full game viewing over a highlight reel anytime. I guess my thing is that if we are only able to get one of the three 2013 guys, Harris is coming up in 2014 and I think he could be just as good if not better based solely on what I saw in the highlights. Hey, I want all four of these kids, I'm just tempering my expectations [or "hopes" would probably be a better word].

There is an article in today's Daily Oklahoman about Stevie Clark being a 4.0 student. Also, it talked about how close he is to his mother and three brothers. I did not know much about the kid before. But everything I read in that article makes me hope that Kruger can make Stevie a Sooner.

I agree. It's a great article! I'll post it to the board on a separate thread.

Wow, take only one and why?

I would have to say whichever 1 we could get. I think all three are very good players. I think all 3 bring something different to the table.

I think Harris is a nice player, I do not think he will be as good as the others but like I said, he is a year behind and that is huge for boys.

If you made me pick 1, I take Clark. He can affect the game in so many ways. He reminds me a lot of Hollis Price with more of an aggressive mindset on offense.

He can guard you with his quickness. He can handle the ball against anyone. He can score, he sees the floor sooo well.
