OU holds at #3 in AP Poll

I believe that's last week's (Feb. 15) poll.

Big 12 = respect. OU loses and doesn't drop. WV loses twice last week and only drops 4 spots. Texas gets blown out at home and only drops a spot. Baylor shoots up 6 places after two good wins. The Big 12 is a boss.

Really hope they don't lay an egg this year in March. Hopefully We can have OU, KU, WVU, ISU, and Baylor/Texas all win a game at least and get them to the second weekend.

A single elimination tournament should do nothing to prove or disprove the validity of season long numbers and metrics (Kenpom, etc). Unfortunately, perception is reality and if your conference has some good teams that play bad in a "one and done" tournament, it somehow reflects poorly on your conference....when it shouldn't.

I agree, but it's how our conference is perceived at the end of the year.

Let's earn the respect in the tourney come March. We've been in similar situations the last couple of years and haven't produced. Part of that may be beating up on each other in regular conference season. But we still haven't produced much in tourney in spite of conference strength.

I agree but all I really care about is Ou doing what they are capable of. After that, I honestly would love to see ku & Texas lose in the first round.

Looking at the bracketology, duke is a 4 seed in our region. If duke ends up being a 4 or 5 seed in our region and they get Jefferson back...that's basically getting an additional 1 or 2 seed in our region that we'll have to face in the sweet 16.

Duke could also play their way up to a 3 and we could avoid them until the elite 8

So, we're supposed to be afraid of playing Duke?

The Dookies put on their pants one leg at a time, same as us. :D

I guess the "clap" emoticon doesn't work anymore...

Thanks, BOB (I think) for the claps.

I expect us to be a #1 seed, but the one team that would concern me if we got matched up with them in the first weekend would be Wichita State.....because they are really like a #5 or #6 seed, but their resume is so bad this year that they will probably be relegated to an 8/9 game. Other than that, I feel good about this team getting into the Sweet 16 without too much angst.

Once we get to the Sweet 16, every team is good at that point so it will be more about matchups.

Oklahoma still riding the nice ranking due to Villanova being ranked #1? Just wondering what your thoughts are? Loses to KState and Tech, really look bad...
