And lets be honest. There were several AWFUL whistles
HA. Norm, Im sorry- but u don't know a thing that you are even talking about buddy. You base everything you know about basketball on who lead the team in scoring that day, and thats as far as you get. We were up 8 when she was in. down 11 when she came out after two fouls. Y? She is the ONLY player that can run the high post in the zone, and I think in basketball- thats a pretty important player to have against a zone- NO? You tell me, your the expert. ha. she had 6 assists in 20 mins? not to mention 7 rebounds, to lead the way. We shot poorly. But Maddie is the most important player we have against a zone- and the refs took her out of it.
But- that was still embarrassing.
This team just goes thru the motions like their coach
Teams expect to improve throughout the season. I think we were a better team in December than we are now.
I don't mind reminding everyone. I told you so.
WE ARE NOT A GOOD TEAM.
Peyton spent a lot of time on the bench tonight and should continue to do so. Gabbi should be next.
Poor shooting continues. We have no mid-range game. Turnovers out the butt. Stupid fouls.
You can see it in the players eyes and effort. Sherri has lost this team, just like she did Morgan's senior year.
We need new ideas, new fire, better players, better recruiting and to
stop accepting poor play and poor coaching.

Did anyone happen to hear what Sherri said in the post-game interview? I'm curious to know how she justified this.
I hate to break the bad news but Maddie is not the next Breanna Stewart.
We can't forget they shot 50% from 3 on 20 attempts, and 30 free throws.... But at some point here, we need to look at our Defense and ask how we can get better.
Vivi and Kk are pretty interchangable and one of them is going to be in foul trouble anyway so I don't think it matters who starts. But TT Edwards needs to be playing 30-35 mins- Gabbi gets burnt more than anyone on the team. We HAVE got to quit relying on 3 pt shooting, get better defenders in the ball game and compete that way- because that is a consistent way to win. That is the reality. The athletes are there. TT. Goya. Vivi. Maddie are honestly as athletic as anybody at their position, but they need to be put in the right positions to succeed. Im feeling confident that maybe now, Sherri will make the change.
I see Vivi and Kay Kay as quite different. If we are against a weak team with a weak post, Kay Kay is better. Against a strong post presence, Vivi is the better performer. But, Gioya, T'Ona, and Maddie are our other athletes.
It might be interesting for some of you to go to the scouting report on OUInsider on Sterling Shepard. Two scouts give a glowing report of his abilities. But, what you might find informative is what they say about "athleticism." They showed a Baylor DE and said he is a great athlete, but relatively useless. They showed how he exhibited his athleticism. But, they also showed how he couldn't use it properly. So, was he an athlete or not? They suggested another prospect whose level of "athleticism" was far inferior, but whose "athletic flow" made him very effective on the field.
The idea is to be a basketball player.
I have never once said that. I believe me and Syb said they have similar movements so she reminds me of her. Syb said pre injury she might of been a better prospect when comparing upsides.
I also said really early in the year that I think Maddie is a year away yet. But if YOU KNOW BASKETBALL NORM- Then you would realize its a great bet that a 6'2 player with an elite guard skill set, a smooth jumper and a HOF coaching staff- who has produced great players similar to her (Dales)--- is going to eventually put her at the top. BUT why I said next year is because she is still a very raw scorer, she trys to beat everyone with her athleticism still and that is not a consistent way to get the job done.
She almost brought us bk tonight w/ defense alone. If next year she isn't an all conference player though Norm, I'll first blame the coaching because there is not an excuse for that- and then I'll concede that I was wrong on her. None the less, she was the most important player to have on the court tonight, and the refs took her out of the game.
She did not come close to bringing us back but that's okay if you want to think that.

I'm not sure which way this season is going to go.
Sherri's a great coach she has salvaged/restored teams so many times.
Right now, this team looks to be lost and badly needs an overhaul.
I'm afraid we lose the next two games as well. We are hurting our seeding provided we do get into the NCAA tourney. Not to mention we will drop out of the top 25.
That's bad enough but I'm concerned the most serious issue is how this will hurt recruiting. Top players want to play with winners. That's not us.
She got within three with successive steals and assists, after making a shot herself. Went from ten to three in less than thirty seconds before Gabbi kind of ruined the momentum.
