Ou @ ksu

I think she will but that's subjective at this point. I think it happens next year, but all she has to do is just start shooting 40-45% again and she will start taking over- (w/gioya) so it could happen at anytime.
I think your making too big of deal about positions as well- Sometimes she's the point, some times she plays as the go to off guard, sometimes she's a stretch 4- She doesn't necessarily have a position. and then she's pulled down the second most boards for us in the conference, she never lets the person she is guarding beat her- so there is not a reason to move her. If she was deficient as a rebounder or deficient as a defender I would agree, but those are strengths- so I can't agree w you. Honestly. I think we need to play TT and Vivi more... But really- if we can just stop having a half where we shoot 35% every game, we wouldn't be having these conversations ether.

I thought Maddie played very well tonight. Anytime Yarborough calls the game she is one of the players who gets lots of fouls.

Vivi (and KK) cannot play more minutes. Too many fouls are called against them, and conditioning is a problem. I would like to see both on the court at the same time once in a while.

Next year Vivi will again be limited to about 15 - 20 minutes per game.

You don't defend everything. You defend what they other team can do well. You are a bit more lax on what they don't do well.

Ironically, we have been bitten on that a couple of times. It happens. Yes, even a 46% free throw shooter can hit five in a row as we saw tonight. But, when a team is not known as a three-point shooting team, and you have watched them miss wide open shots in game after game, you don't spend a lot of time worrying about the three-point line if their primary means of scoring is driving the lane. You tend to pay attention to the lane.

Sometimes, poor shooters shoot well. T'Ona hit a three tonight. Think anyone will be guarding her at the three point line? The only player we needed to worry about at the three point line was Wesemann. The rest---sag off and guard against them driving.

Usually, it works. Not always.

Notice that we guarded the three-point line against TCU. But, then, they almost beat us driving the lane when they couldn't hit the three, their life source.

As Jalen Rose says, Positions were invented in basketball for a novice to understand the game.

They have no true relevancy when you think about it.

So, Maddie needs a male coach to win in Manhattan? Is the reason that the men lost in Manhattan that Lon needs a female coach?

Lon was 19-2 and No1 in the country when we got upset. Huge difference. This team has know identity and Coale is lost as to what to do. JMO. Let's not compare Coach Coale to Lon at this point and time.

Several good thoughts, Syb.

Yeah. I think I'll wait until Lon has been to three Final Fours.

Im just mad we have to wait to Saturday to wash that taste out.... Can't say I think we will win after tonight. But we definitely could come right back and beat Texas at home. They really turned the ball over last time, so I am not sure that that game is very representative of who they actually are this season. But, maybe we come out- shoot 45% for once, a pull off an upset.

If you cannot see that Manning is a wing not a PF then I'm not sure what else there is to discuss.
She has no post game at all. OU's half court offense is a mess. Witness all the 3s
thrown up for a poor percentage or drives into no man's land blocked.
She's a perimeter player.

Neither did I. But nobody ever accused her of flying up and down the court... Vivi has averaged 12 points over the last 5 games in half of courtneys minutes shooting 70 % ... fairly Courtney Like.

One of the reasons KWilliams is playing half of CParis minutes is because of foul trouble...consistently. I see that as her major pitfall. You can't produce if you're not on the court. She has to learn how to adjust to the refs. The refs are not going to adjust to her.

I agree that Maddie is a more natural 3, except she refuses to shoot a lot.

She's playing the 4 because we don't have anyone else good enough to do it. It's the right place for her on this team now.

Hate to bring it up again, but SC is over paid. She never has been a great X&O coach IMO, she has let this program slip downwards. I'm not saying to fire her but some changes are going have to be made unless all are happy with a very avg program. SC just may be older than her years.

The male coach thing is a red herring.
Should be ignored at all costs.

But somehow implying Lon isn't completely out performing Sherri right now is a strange statement. He is.
And falling back to past accomplishments is a weak defense.
What's the connection between this year's team and the OU's last final four women's team.
Nothing. In the minds of recruits? Nothing.

I was talking about VV in that post- but yeah- thats obvious now. Bigs can't keep from fouling

You do realize that even after the loss in Manhattan, that OU is 7-5 while K-State is 5-7?

Head Coach Sherri Coale
On K-State’s offensive adjustments …
“They made a bunch of shots and they played really well offensively. I do not think that we guarded with the kind of grit and determination that is necessary to win games in this league.”

On improving for the rest of the season …
“I do not really concern myself too much with rankings. What I concern myself with is the quality of basketball that we are playing. We are not playing great quality basketball right now. That is my job. That is my fault. I have got to do a better job getting this team to hunger and thirst after excellence. I have got to get them to understand how important it is to compete on every possession. I have got to put them in a position where they feel like they can do that. That is the coaching staff’s job and that is what I have got to do.”

On Vionese Pierre-Louis…
“She [Vionese Pierre-Louis] has been playing really well. She had a great second half against TCU and made some really big plays down the stretch. She is doing a really good job for us. She is continuing to get better. She is just a sophomore. I do not think it is any sort of a fluke that she is probably the one spending the most time in the gym on her own. I think there is a connection there.”
Hadn't heard that about Vivi.

You do realize the expectations for OU women's hoops far exceed the expectations for KSU hoops.

The bad losses are racking up, the good wins are not happening.
For a team Sherri said would be a Big 12 competitor, it's way below expectations.
