OU-Stanford

Arizona and Oregon were rated 179 and 210 by realtimerpi. Stanford lost to both late in the year.

It would not surprise me to see the Pacific Twelve eliminated tonight as Arkansas-Little Rock takes out Arizona State. I think UALR is the better team, and I have no idea why the committee put four Pac 12 teams in the top 16.

They had to find a reason to make OU a road team in the first two rounds.

Remember how much the Pac-12 was talked up early in the season? That talk was over sometime in January.

Early on most people expect UCLA to be at worse a Sweet 16 team, I can see why when you have the top rated recruiting class, but it just goes to show that you never know how freshmen will turn out/ what kind of impact they'll make...

For both the good and the bad. Gabbi Ortiz comes to mind.

It hasn't been more than seven to ten years ago that USC had a "great" recruiting class that would get them into the Final Four. Anyone ever heard of what happened to any of them? A key one was injured, and I don't think she did much when she came back. The rest were lost in memories, or lack thereof.

You kind of need a coach that knows what to do with talent. Their coach is a second-year head coach who was a long-time assistant at Florida State. I don't remember them being much either at the time.

I would add that can apply to upper classmen as well. Several here thought Kornet would be a starter this year.

If it was the same class we got Abi and AT in then Jacki Gemelos had about 5 Acl injures and the other post finished her last 2 seasons at BU... Madlock I believe was her last name...

Kornet I love the girl... I think her issue has been she's mostly a spot up shooter who can't shoot.... With Ortiz, Little, Carter, Campbell, Manning, all able to shoot it's pretty easy to see why her minutes have went down...

It is hard to truly judge Stanford on there season statistics because Taylor Greenfield did not emerge until tourney time. She's been averaging double digits since. I think that Maddie matches up well w/ her and could lock her down- Though she is a bit thicker than Maddie- that might be a good match up to watch.

The area of focus for me tho, is Lilly Thompson. We have let a lot of point guards run wild on us this season... If Gabbi can hold her to 10 maybe even 15 or under I think we win. I think we have a real nice advantage on the Boards (for once) and on the block offensively- I think we have a few too many players for them to matchup with overall and are the much deeper team. But if Lilly Thompson scores 20+ I don't think we fair too well- She will get the entire team rolling if she gets going.

I would like to say this hosting idea is completely ridiculous. The difference between a 4 and 5 seed is based entirely on your opinion- and you hand a sizable advantage to a 4 seed based on a matter of opinion?? Thats a bunch of bs.

Nuetral court- I love our chances and think are the better team. At Stanford??? I just don't know yet. I'm nervous. A lot more pressure on them however, thats usually a good sign tournament time.

I've seen Stanford play a few times but am far from an expert. I know they have good players and are well coached so we can't do one of our sleep walking acts. A good thing for me is that I look at Stanford and don't see either big or little sister. That automatically changes the outcome from no chance to we might be able to win this one.

I'm not really worried about Stanford. I am concerned about how we play. I don't think they can beat us.

We must avoid silly fouls.

We must avoid just throwing up shots.

We must think before reaching.

We must challenge three-pointers without fouling.

Then, we must play our game. Move, get open, shoot. Run if we can.

Official Thread.

They are not the Stanford of old. They are not invincible. We can win this.

All year long our ladies have been ignored in the polls by commentators, writers, and broadcasters. Tomorrow that crap stops.

Play hard. Play smart. Bleed Crimson.

OU, baby. OU.

Not if they play the same way on defense as last game. Tighten up the lane ladies.

Someone better step up offensively other than Carter, right now.

Carter: they have no answer. But, we have to quit trying layups until we settle down. We haven't made one yet, except on fast break. They are letting us shoot. So, shoot.

2 stupid fouls by kaylon already and to the bench she goes.

No one is scoring.

Peyton has disappeared for 2 straight games.

Peyton doesn''t appear to be looking for her shot. Even Edwards is. We need to stop trying inside until we settle down. We are missing inside with bad shots. We are doing OK everywhere else. Stanford can't hit except layups, and we are the opposite. The good news is defensive boards.
