OU-Stanford

Kaylon has to take care of business when she gets the ball. With our outside shooting, she usually has one girl guarding her. She needs to get down on the block and wait for the ball, grab it and score. Too many times our girls have drove to the bucket and tried to dish to a big.....mostly to end up throwing it away.

Good half of basketball. Stay hot girls!

Kaylon almost always has to put the ball on the floor.

If Gioya can come out and get a great start in the second half, it would be a huge boost. I expect Stanford to match our intensity so we have to be smart and efficient with the ball.

Stanford shot 14 free throws, OU shot 4. Girls are going to have to cut out the cheap fouls and hope the zebras start calling some on Stanford. Not likely, the crowd boos every time the call a foul on Stanford.

I don't know why Sherri put Kaylon back in with 2 fouls. It was almost a given she would pick up her 3rd which she did.

+1. I could see her putting her back in if we were falling behind, but we were leading by 5, I believe, at the time. Poor coaching decision.

Fouls are close. OU has 10 and Stanford has 8.

Yes, but the free throw disparity is NOT! Stanfor 12-14 OU 4-4. A lot of the OU fouls have been when Stanford drives into the paint and puts up a shot. It
is almost a given that the offcials will blow the whistle!

Yes, she usually has to dribble to score. I have seen her drop step and score, but she needs to be more aggressive on the offensive end.

If I had listed ten things that I thought would happen, none would have been similar to the flow of this game. Gioya hasn't been involved for over a month, and she has sixteen. T'Ona can't shoot, and she is three for three for seven.

Kay Kay has played so badly that I don't know why we keep trying to get it in to the post. She misses every layup anyhow. We have made all of our mistakes trying to get it inside, or, worse yet, actually getting it inside. Either they let them block us, or we miss every layup.

I would start Kay Kay on the bench and tell everyone to face the basket and play. They apparently don't think we can shoot. They are collapsing inside. Shoot. Get some free throw line shots and shoot.

If Stanford keeps shooting at less than forty percent, we will have to work hard to lose.

Sherri HAS to know that KK is a fouling machine. Love the girl, but she makes some of the STUPIDEST fouls!

When she dribbles it gives the defense a chance to recover. That is the reason she missed 3 easy shots in the first half.

Well, she is a junior. If she hasn't learned that it's not a good idea to dribble after receiving a pass in the paint by now, I'm not sure that she ever will...

We need to take advantage of the weak matchup up on the floor. Gioya went off cause they apparently had no scout on the season and she had nobody guarding her. There is a weak defender on one of our strong offensives players every rotation. We have to exploit it.

Lets get it.

Overall, happy. I am sick of stupid fouls from Williams, Carter and Manning. Stanford wouldn't even be in this game if not for the charity stripe.

Indeed, we must match their intensity second by second. Damage their will, break their spirit.

Secibd gakf getting ready to start, hope that we can cut down on the mental mistakes.

Should've been SECOND HALF... :)

EDIT: Game's over, the second half was a disaster. Stanford outplayed us totally.

There are some people that you can repeat directions over and over to, but they just don't learn. They let their instincts control them. Kay Kay is all about emotion, and she has never learned certain things. She may know them, but her emotions dominate.

Did you notice? The official who likes to call them on us did not call that one. The man across the floor had to.
