OU @ TCU 5pm CST on ESPN2

It's all good. I posted that after the worst half of basketball this team had played all season. Yesterday was the first opportunity that I had this year to see the team in person....and I certainly wasn't happy about the performance for the first 35 minutes. I'm ecstatic about the win.....and thus, you can rib me all you want. I can handle it ;)

The last 8 min or so had to be unreal to watch in person

This will be a really cool memory for you forever

Thanks Boulder....it was the best win I've ever seen in person as an OU fan. Really proud of this group for continuing to fight when it seemed like it just wasn't their night.

I mfd Austin so bad at the LNC 6-7 days ago. I’ve been there.

Def a great win

I will 100% admit that I 100% gave up on the game... and honestly, the season. Luckily for me, I kept the TV on so I didn’t actually miss it. That was one of the best individual performances in OU history and a gut-check moment all around. In a season that has been pretty boring overall, that was an awesome, awesome moment. And obviously the timing was impeccable. I think you’ll see more interest/hope going to post season now based solely on that win.

A few things to point out though:

—Reaves was Superman; absolutely insane. It was awesome. But he didn’t necessarily prove anyone “wrong.” Just because he went MJ-mode in Ft Worth doesn’t erase his prior poor outings or head-scratching decisions/shot selection. I like the kid. On a team that sometimes seem very low-key, he has always showed some moxie. I like that. But man, he’s bee erratic and outright dumb on the floor on many ocassions this year. So both things can be true— you can say Reaves has been a little disappointing this year AND he played one of the best/most clutch games in OU history on Saturday.

—There is such a fine line in sports, much like life. And I like it that way. So much was on the hook yesterday. And yes, the fact that we won totally changes my feeling on the entire season. Lose, and I call it a clear disappointment—would have been a fourth straight sub .500 conf finish and bottom 4 in league. But they won and now I view this as at least a decent season with a chance to make it better than decent. So, yes, one game or even one shot can and SHOULD change perceptions. That’s the way this works.

—Don’t love having to beat WVU for a third time and our B12 tourney woes certainly color how I view our chances. But I honestly don’t care THAT much. I think we are probably locked no worse than an 11 seed— probably closer to a 9/10. And if we beat WVU, maybe we move closer to a 7.. and really the difference isn’t enough for me to care. It would be nice to get to 20 wins and finally advance in KC, but I don’t view it as a huge game— although when was the last time OU made the conf Champ Game? I honestly can’t recall. Would certainly make things more fun.

—It’s nice knowing you don’t have to sweat out Selection Sunday.

Still can’t believe we won that game. I’ve watched so many OU games at end of half and end of games, for the last shot, and they very rarely go the right way. What an all time game by reaves. Also, I have to give props to Manek. He wa having an awful game and hit 2 huge 3’s late to help us win. What a historic comeback.

No you aren’t lol. And you didn’t answer the question, do you condone his behavior?

You should be the LAST one calling out any other posters!! I'm sorry you are SOO IRRITATED that OU actually pulled out the W....you simply can't handle the fact of anyone calling out you or your other troll haters that constantly rip every ounce of our basketball program!!

Guess what...several of us are tired of all the spew! Take the W p....!!!!

Made a dumb mistake vs Texas. But we choked at the line as well.

The throat slashing Reggie Miller choking...

I love it. Let the kids have fun. Everyone can’t be a nice guy. We have enough nice guys.

I wasn't talking about Austin Reaves's behavior. It was fine, he was amazing. I was talking about the message board poster who I was responding to that told everyone who disagrees with him to "eat a bag of dicks." I was responding to that post in the message you quoted and responded to. I would like your opinion on that sort of behavior.

You told everyone who disagrees with you to "eat a bag of dicks." I'm not the one that is irritated. You seem to have anger management issues. Again, maybe message board posting isn't the right activity for you.

You and I see things different.

Enough is enough sometimes. You’re a negative person. You hate Lon Kruger. You hate this team most days. People get sick of that. I drove 2 hours to watch Texas game. Sat 4 rows behind the scores table. I was pissed.

But it happens. I don’t come here and jump off a cliff. Fire everyone except Lincoln:)

Your act gets old. Leroy’s act gets old. Daqman act gets old. Sometimes you need to be told how most people feel about you.

You're just plain wrong. I am not a negative person. I do not hate Lon Kruger and I love OU basketball. But because I don't view everything through crimson-colored glasses you have the wrong opinion of me. That's fine, I don't care. But, if you think it's okay to tell people you disagree with to "eat of bag of dicks" then I'll just put you in the same category as him. I thought you were different.

Yep. Just because we want more than .500 (or sub .500) conference record, and a better seed heading into the Dance (amongst other things), definitely doesn't mean we hate OU basketball or Lon Kruger. I just want better for our program. And sure, sometimes that means not celebrating a single/individual win like I should, b/c that win doesn't change where our program is. And where our program is, is 4 straight seasons of not being over .500 in Big 12 play. 4 straight seasons of either not making the Dance or making it with a seed that says we should lose our first round game.

OU basketball used to be better than that. THAT is why I feel the way I feel.

I totally agree... we love OU basketball and that's why we want it to be a better program.

Not really.

Good history. But nothing that suggests excellence should be expected. Had a good stretch in late 80s and early 00s.

Getting to the dance is a good accomplishment for a program with so few supporters.

Just saw a quote from Lon post-game. He said he had mixed feelings about this win, and that he isnt enjoying it as much as he could because he knows how it feels to be on the other side of a result like that.
I totally get that. I'd celebrate for a month if we had a comeback like that against KU or the Aggots, but I felt a little bad for TCU afterward. Those entitled dweebs in Austin? Nah, rain on them all you want. But to rip out the Horned Frog hearts on Senior Day did bring me a little pause.

Lon is incredibly competitive, no matter the activity. He's just too classy to gloat.
