Woo-hoo! How many games do we have to win to make it to Brooklyn? Will they be home games?

12 teams will participate. Mich. St., OU, Seaton Hall, and Virginia Tech. will host 2 home games each. Win, lose or draw the host teams will advance to the semi finals in NY.

The remaining 8 teams will participate in a round robin at one of two selected host sites.

OU will get four extra games out of the deal. Four games is the max allowed for these made for TV tourney's. Last season it was 3 in Orlando and one in the All College in OKC. The All College isn't that good of a deal. Even though OU picked up an extra neutral site game, they have to pay Texas A&M back with a game in College Station.

Hopefully we will represent well. We'll get plenty of exposure from this.

The two home games will probably be cupcakes. Seaton Hall and Virginia tech aren't any good. I'm thinking that it will be seeded to get OU and Mich. St. in the finals.

Playing in an unbelievable venue against top-notch competition will be a great test for our young program.”

Brooklyn? Do they not still play the semis and finals in MSG?

I guess the new arena in Brooklyn outbid MSG.

MSG's a 10-minute walk from our apartment, but Brooklyn's plenty convenient enough, when it comes to seeing my Sooners play.

VaTech and Seton Hall both lose only 1 player from this season's squad. Unfortunately for the Hokies it's their best player. But if you bring back a bunch of mediocre talent are you that much better off just because they have continuity with each other?

I hope we get there so you can see them live in NY.....

You may be right. But, I disagree. Teams are allowed a max of 27 games if they participate in any in season tourney. They can play a max of 4 of those types of games. That would result in a possible total of 31 regular season games.

Teams that do not play in an in season tourney get a max of 29 regular season games. The in season tourney's give a team the opportunity to play a couple of extra games during the regular season. As far as the all college, those games have always been classified as an in season tourney. If that is not the case now, it has been changed and I missed it.

Teams that participate against OU in the All College will typically demand a return home game. Sometimes, like season before last, Cincy had a return neutral site game in their town as a payback.
