OU v ISU

I thought we would be more dominant in the paint. We weren't against the tallest team we have played. Kay Kay didn't seem to be as fired up. Vivi made some rather poor passes that were intercepted. We just didn't do all that well at post, and that has been a strength recently.

Gabbi throws away too many opportunities. She lobs passes. T'Ona drives into the middle and gets into trouble. Two things that need to stop.

What was wrong with Derica? She only played a couple of minutes and got two fouls.

Once again, Peyton didn't score in the first half. Then, she came to play in the second. She had eleven of her thirteen in the third.

All-around, I thought this was Gioya's best game. She didn't make a bunch of mistakes between the good things she did. She got points and rebounds.

Maddie showed us a bit of everything. Those offensive boards helped seal the game.

Believe it or not I agree with everything you have said here. We are 20 games into the season and still making the same mistakes. Why? If it is not lack of talent then it has to be coaching. I have seen next years recruits play (on tape) except Mulkey and believe they would probably be starting on this team, and from what has been posted Mulkey would be also. So next year 3 Freshmen will possibly start ahead of 3 seniors? Thats good ------- and bad!

Our best free throw shooter in conference play is------Vionise Pierre-Louis!

She is at 792, and Maddie is at 781.
LaNesia (800) and Gabbi (917) haven't had enough free throws to be listed.

Surprised to see Derica got so few minutes. Gioya only had 18 and her stats looked good but I know that doesn't tell the whole story. Maybe saving her.
We need her to be strong against OSU, but then we will need that from everyone. Expected the win, but still happy we actually won. They need to be good against OSU from start to finish on Wednesday. Hope I can make myself get out of the house and actually go to the game. It should be fun.

I think the reason Derica found the bench was her two fouls were not real smart. The last, running into the shooter at the three point line, enabling the Clones to tie the game at the first quarter mark might of earned her bench warming time. I pretty much agree with all your points. I still think coming out of the zone was a mistake, we seemed to keep pressure on and were able to stifle their drives to the basket, going back to the man gave them a better chance to attack and be successful. Over all though a nice gritty win.

Great win. Was in Baton Rouge and was shocked to see the result.

Many a good Sooner team has belched in Ames. Great job by the guys.

At the half Sherri said she was very disappointed with their energy level and with lack of movement without the ball. Lon's team does not seem to have problems with those things while it is a constant theme with Sherri's teams. I have no idea why.

One thing I am noticing is how much better KK can move than in the early part of the season. She looks slimmer - and quite a bit faster. She can run down the court pretty easily in transition.

On the other hand, Vivi has not progressed on that. Do you think it is because of physical limitations? Or is it possible she is still struggling some with her injuries from the past? Does anyone recall what the injuries were? Vivi has the ability to bring some very strong play at times. We need her to not be slowed that way when they she comes in. Will that be likely to improve over the next year?

I have noticed both Gabbi and TT throw lots of passes that get intercepted before reaching the intended target. Is that possibly due to how short they are?

I thought Vivi moved better last year. It looks to me like she gives a little to her right leg. I don't know if she has had any injuries other than the ACL at the end of her senior year in high school. She wasn't expected to play at the beginning of the season last year, but she did. She had a quick recovery.

I thought Vivi was improving rather significantly. A lot of Kay Kay or Vivi moving is whether they know how to make certain moves. Kay Kay has been trained longer in how to do certain things. Vivi is still new to the game. I don't think she will ever be fast. But, she is a force, as Texas found. They have height, and she scored how many against them?
