OU v. Kentucky

I just now saw a different site that states the game starts at 5pm today. I am going with this time unless someone has better info.

OU Sports has it starting at 5pm. I hope that's the case as it's "only" midnight my time. Much easier to stay up for that than to go to bed, wake up at 2am and then back to bed after the game. Since I missed "this morning's" game, maybe I'll be the good luck charm that will spur OUr women on to victory! :)

I returned from the grocery store just in time to see Kentucky take a 15-13 lead, their first of the game. About eight minutes into the game, and KY committed their seventh foul.

I guess Sherri has been monitoring this site as she started LaNesia today.

Unfortunately, she still hasn't put Gioya at the end of the bench, and she has two critical turnovers on our last two trips down the court. Tied. Kornet leads OU in scoring with 11. I wish Sherri would sit Gioya until she gets the message.

OU 32=28 with about 3:23 left in the half. OU has turned it over on the last five possessions, I think. We suddenly got lazy and sloppy. Tired?

OU 38-35 at the half. Kentucky beat Baylor? we aren't playing that well. Kornet is.

A silly turnover by Maddie and we lost an opportunity to score right before the half. Kornet can score but no one else helping much. The good news is OU leads at the half 38-35.

Kentucky hasn't shot the ball that well but I expect they will improve in the second half. If we play smart and knock down some shots, we can stay in this game. But, we have already committed 13 turnovers and we simply cannot do that in the second half. Our zone is working pretty well.

Where was this team last night? 80 percent free throw shooting is helping, and we are doing well on rebounding with authority. I like the fact that Sherri is using the zone to negate a little of their quickness. We seem to be able to drive on them at will, just need to make sure and finish at the rim. McKenna is turning out to be the real deal at the moment. I like the way she plays with toughness. We have done a good job of creating 15 turnovers on the Wildcats, now we need to improve on our 13. Just take care of the ball and don't force passes.

Another dribbling screwup by Sharane. Ball over to Kentucky. Ughhhhhhhhh!

Sherri is going with a very small lineup. Sharane is the tallest player.

Two good plays, and and we are back up by seven, 52-45. Ortiz three and putback. But, she missed yet another FT. Treece is still the only freshman to hit a FT.
