Has White got his waiver yet?
Also can you enlighten me on Anderson's situation and how he is going to be eligible this year?
Is Vanderbeken going to be ok after sitting the majority of last year with an injury?

How/why did Anderson transfer from another D-1 school after being a 3-year starter?

Not that I have heard....

He graduated and received a waiver from the NCAA to play at ISU right away.

Is Vanderbeken going to be ok after sitting the majority of last year with an injury?

“It’s hard to find a lot of 6-11 guys who can space the floor like Jamie can,” Hoiberg said. “He is going to be a big part of our offense. A guy like Jamie can stand out there and drive big guys away from the basket. I am going to use him in a lot of pick and pop situations. He had some unfortunate injuries last year and he is 100 percent healthy right now.”

Not sure, but he was a good player and should be good for ISU right away.

They expect this Ejim kid to be pretty good. He was the best player for the best prep team in the country,

If White gets his waiver and can play, ISU could be a little better than the experts think. They would probably have more talent than OU, at least on paper pre-season.

I'm sure that an ex-player that has never coached a day of college basketball will instantly turn ISU into a good team.

Bobby Lutz has 400 head coaching wins and won 3 league championships at Charlotte, he is the #1 assistant. I am sure he will be doing a lot of the coaching.

Is this what it's come to? Have we fallen so far to where we're compared to ISU? I'd rather shoot up than down.

Can you provide an article saying where Anderson has got that wavier yet (or indicating he is expected to get one)? I didn't see one when I was looking at who the heck he was.

Also, Will Barton (top 15 guy, was going to Memphis before being inelligible) and C.J. Fair (top 100 kid, going to Syracue) were on Brewster so I would consider them both better than Eljim.

brewster may have been the best prep team, but ejim was hardly their best player.

If our expectations are so low that we are comparing ourselves to Iowa State right now, that is just really, really sad at how far our program has fallen the last 5 years.

Sorry I didn't see your post before I posted mine. This thread really shouldn't exist.

Threads like this are great for debate, but i can tell it is not going to be a fun year to post on this board...it's gonna be pile on time for the doubters...

You don't like conference previews and matchups of opponents during the summer? Man, tough crowd.

I'm just saying we shouldn't be comparing to Iowa State, or Colorado, or Nebraska. We should be comparable to Texas, Kansas, Baylor, A&M near the top of the conference.

5 years? You mean 1 year. This type of thread didn't exist before last year's disaster, or did you forget that we are 17 months removed from an Elite 8 appearance.?

True, although our expectations going into Capel's first couple of years weren't that high. And I don't think anyone really knew how good our elite 8 team was till it started going. We knew Blake would be good, just not all player of year type good, and we didn't know exactly how good those role players for that team were. We still probably don't have role players half as good as we had that year.

Given the record without Blake, I think some fans have a big fat * on that season by way of having the National Player of the Year and #1 pick in the NBA draft.

Of course, that has been argued and debated to death around here.

Yes it has. You obviously assume that Blake coached himself and Capel deserves zero credit, so we might as well move on.
