OU vs saxet Wednesday 8pm CST ESPN2

Opinions are becoming less and less welcome. I will state, as I believe I have done before, that it seems like one group of posters is attacking the other groups opinions, but I don't see Group B attacking the opinions of Group A.

All I can say is stay strong brother, you take a lot of heat. Most of us love OU basketball, hopefully someday soon we’ll have less reason to snap at each other!

The bickering back and forth really gets old. Both sides have some valid points but it gets lost in the mean spirited rhetoric.

Anyhoo, Texas doesn’t look very good. They really aren’t good, but while this is a very winnable game, it will be a struggle. It’s a road game and those are tougher to win, especially for a team that struggles in so many areas. Texas does have talent but they’re not a good team.

Hopefully we can find a way to win.

Always hard to win on the road. Particularly in conference. But like some have pointed out it’s a decent matchup for us. But I’ll give OU a 40% chance to win.:ez-roll::ez-roll::ez-roll:

If we shoot a bunch of 3's, we'll lose 45-37.
If we shoot less than eight 3's, we'll win 46-45.

I'm not qualified to be a coach (by a long shot), but I'd like to see Coach Kruger tell the guys no three-point shots in the first three minutes. It seems like every game (and the start of too many seconds halves) we come out settling for shot after shot from behind the line for the first 10 minutes and too often, we're missing 90% them, thereby digging ourselves a hole.

Yup

Yeah I can see us winning and losing...

WS... as far as “liking” any other team that’s bs. I’ve watched and cheered for OU for almost 50 yrs.

Do I give my “negative” opinion when it seems like it’s a **** show.... yup. Glad to be proven wrong...I watch the games and enjoy the good and anguish over the bad....I’m a fan.

Just my 2 cents

I really thought Shaka would do better at UT. Thought he'd be able to recruit some really good guards to run his system. Boy was I wrong.

I felt the same for awhile. But that pressing really doesnt work when you have time to prepare for it. Yes it does in spots.

During the NCAA you just get 1 maybe 2 small practices to prepare.

Plus this is big boy basketball. Hes had talent just poor coaching.

his problem was that he coudn't up the recruiting at texas like he did at VCU ( barnes recruited at an elite level)

and he had to ajust to having NBA quality centers

he has been bad

I am rarely correct from the start, but I suspected this would be a bad hire from the beginning. His "havoc" style wouldn't translate well in this conference. And during his tenure, he has had to adjust his coaching style....which isn't going well.

It's just a bad fit....and again, I hope he stays there forever.

Texas should do everything possible to hire Eric Musselman from Arkansas. He is a great fit for them.

G- Courtney Ramey --- averaged 11
G- Matt Coleman --- averages 12
G- Andrew Jones --- averages 11
F- Gerrald Liddell (6'8'' 200) --- averages 5
F- Jericho Sims (6'9'' 240) --- averages 9

You've got be kidding me Texas.... all those resources, all the recruiting, all the 4 and 5 stars, and this is what you have?

Texas puts guys in the NBA fairly regularly, but this team is a joke considering they are the University of Texas. The coach should be fired for this.

These guys scored 44 points against Baylor... 46 points against Providence.. Got their ass kicked by Georgetown... 60 points on A&M... 62 on California.

I am not sure these guys can score with OU... They don't have any good size, average at best shooting. It's at home, and I am not saying it's going to be easy, but it's just bizarre to me how Texas has a team like this.

They don't seem more talented than OU or anything.

I never thought I would see this comment about this OU team.....but I think you may be right! And throw in OSU as well!!

From Eric Bailey...

Austin Reaves won’t allow his emotions to get too high or too low during his debut basketball season at Oklahoma.

The sharpshooter was the Sooners’ hero Saturday in a 66-61 victory over Kansas State, as he scored 18 of his game-high 21 points in the final 10:30 of a critical second-half rally.

Yes, the transfer guard’s 3-point percentage has dipped from his sophomore season at Wichita State. There have been many more misses than makes, but he won’t let that define his junior season.

“I have to shoot it better. I haven’t shot it well this whole year,” Reaves said. “It’s something that my coaches tell me not to think about. They want me to do the same things. The coaches and the players keep putting me in good situations to do what I’ve done since I was 10 years old.”

Also, I already posted it on another thread, but Guerin Emig did his first Big 12 rankings of the season earlier this week. OU is fifth:

Record: 10-3/1-0

NET: 43

This week: Wed at Texas, 8 pm; Sat at Iowa State, 7 pm

Kristian Doolittle, Austin Reaves and Brady Manek have played really well. Guards Jamal Bieniemy and De'Vion Harmon have not. Lon Kruger needs more from Bieniemy and Harmon to make the NCAA Tournament.

No way man! Musselman should be OUs next coach when Kruger retires.

Sooo this will be the game thread?

Interested to see how we do. I’ve watched a few teams man... some ugly ball.

Boomer

Crap! How can we be getting killed on the boards already in warmups?
